This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 201710891631.0, filed on Sep. 27, 2017, the disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
The present disclosure relates to computer keyboards, and more particularly to a portable computer keyboard.
A conventional computer keyboard includes an alphanumeric keyboard and a numeric keypad next to it. However, the conventional computer keyboard is too long and is not easy to carry. In addition, the conventional computer keyboard is not dust-proof.
Many aspects of the disclosure can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the disclosure. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
It will be appreciated that for simplicity and clarity of illustration, where appropriate, reference numerals have been repeated among the different figures to indicate corresponding or analogous elements. In addition, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the exemplary embodiments described herein. However, it will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that the exemplary embodiments described herein can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, methods, procedures, and components have not been described in detail so as not to obscure the related relevant feature being described. Also, the description is not to be considered as limiting the scope of the exemplary embodiments described herein. The drawings are not necessarily to scale and the proportions of certain parts may be exaggerated to better illustrate details and features of the present disclosure.

The numeric keypad 12 is movable between a first position received in the cavity 111 of the alphanumeric keyboard 11 and a second position protruding from the opening 113 of the cavity 111 of the alphanumeric keyboard 11. The numeric keypad 12 includes a plurality of numeric keys 21, a first notch 121, and a second notch 122.
With reference to
When the engaging member 132 engages the first notch 121 of the numeric keypad 12, the numeric keypad 12 is firmly held in the cavity 111 of the alphanumeric keyboard 11 and the compression spring 131 is compressed, thereby facilitating the carrying of the computer keyboard. When the engaging member 132 engages the second notch 122 of the numeric keypad 12, the numeric keypad 12 is held so as to protrude from the cavity 111 of the alphanumeric keyboard 11 and the compression spring 131 is released, thereby facilitating the use of the computer keyboard. When the engaging member 132 is disengaged from the first notch 121 or the second notch 122 of the numeric keypad 12, the numeric keypad 12 is unlocked from the alphanumeric keyboard 11.
With reference to
The cover 14 is pivotally connected to the alphanumeric keyboard 11. The cover 14 includes a first cover portion 141, a second cover portion 142, and a guide recess 143. The first cover portion 141 is hinged to the rear wall 116 of the alphanumeric keyboard 11 by a first hinge 5. The second cover portion 142 is hinged to the first cover portion 141 by a second hinge 6. The guide recess 143 extends through the second cover portion 142.
The second locking mechanism 15 is used to lock the cover 14 in a position covering the alphanumeric keyboard 11. The second locking mechanism 15 includes a moving member 152, a second resilient member 153, and an operating member 151. The moving member 152 is Y-shaped and has an operating arm 1521, an abutting arm 1522, and a latch arm 1523. The operating arm 1521 is movable along the guide recess 143 of the cover 14. The operating arm 1521 has an outer end protruding from the cover 14. The second resilient member 153 is disposed in the guide recess 143 of the cover 14. The second resilient member 153 provides a resilient force to the abutting arm 1522 such that the latch arm 1523 engages the locking recess 117 of the numeric keypad 12. The operating member 151 is mounted on the outer end of the operating arm 1521. The operating member 151 can be moved in a direction away from the locking recess 117 of the numeric keypad 12 to cause the latch arm 1523 to disengage from the locking recess 117 of the numeric keypad 12.
When the latch arm 1523 engages the locking recess 117 of the numeric keypad 12, the cover 14 covers the alphanumeric keyboard 11 and the second resilient member 153 is released. The alphanumeric keyboard 11 is thereby rendered dust-proof. When the latch arm 1523 is disengaged from the locking recess 117 of the numeric keypad 12, the cover 14 is unlocked from the alphanumeric keyboard 11 and the second resilient member 153 is compressed such that the first cover portion 141 and the second cover portion 142 of the cover 14 can pivot to serve as a brace supporting the alphanumeric keyboard 11.
The exemplary embodiments shown and described above are only examples. Many details are often found in the art such as the other features of a computer keyboard. Therefore, many such details are neither shown nor described. Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present technology have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the present disclosure, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in the detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of the parts within the principles of the present disclosure, up to and including the full extent established by the broad general meaning of the terms used in the claims. It will therefore be appreciated that the exemplary embodiments described above may be modified within the scope of the claims.
