This Non-provisional application claims priority under 35 U.S.C. § 119(a) on Patent Application No(s). 201810035285.0 filed in People's Republic of China on Jan. 15, 2018, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
This present invention relates to an electronic device and more particularly, to a portable electronic device with ease of use.
An input module of a common portable electronic device such as a notebook computer may include a key unit, a touchpad, and a mouse.
The key unit and the touchpad are built together with the body of the notebook computer. The key unit inputs text or instructions by means of keys. A user can use a finger to slide on or press the touchpad to control a cursor displayed on the screen of the notebook computer.
Because the operational flexibility of the touchpad is worse than that of the mouse and the user may unintentionally touch the touchpad during typing, many users prefer to use the mouse additionally. However, since the mouse is a device independent of the notebook computer, it is inconvenient for the user to carry the mouse.
The present invention provides a portable electronic device with ease of use to improve the prior art.
According to the present invention, a portable electronic device includes a body, a first connector, a display screen, and an input module. The body has an accommodation space and a door panel capable of exposing or covering the accommodation space. The first connector is disposed in the accommodation space. The display screen is connected to the body and is capable of being closed or opened relative to the body. The input module is detachably accommodated in the accommodation space. The input module has a second connector configured to be electrically connected to the first connector. The input module operates in a first mode when being accommodated in the accommodation space. The input module operates in a second mode after being taken out from the accommodation space.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the door panel may slide relative to the accommodation space to expose or cover the accommodation space.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the body may have a yielding slot on a side of the accommodation space.
In an embodiment of the present invention, an upper surface of the door panel may be provided with a pulling bump.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a front end of the door panel may have an engaging tooth portion, the body may have an engaging groove portion at a side portion of the accommodation space, and the engaging tooth portion may be capable of being engaged with the engaging groove portion.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the first connector may have a plurality of first pins and the second connector may have a plurality of second pins.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the portable electronic device may further include an ejector member disposed in the body. The ejector member may have a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion may be exposed by the body and may be located outside the accommodation space, and the second end portion may be located inside the accommodation space. When the input module is accommodated in the accommodation space, the second end portion may eject the input module when the first end portion is pressed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the ejector member may further have a pivot portion connected between the first end portion and the second end portion, and the first end portion and the second end portion may be capable of rotating about the pivot portion.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the first end portion, the pivot portion, and the second end portion may be integrally formed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the portable electronic device may further include a button mounted on the first end portion.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the portable electronic device may further include a press block connected to an upper part of the second end portion.
Based on the above, the input module of the portable electronic device of the present invention can be detached from the body for use as a mouse, and therefore the user does not need to carry an extra mouse, thus providing convenience in use. In addition, after the user takes the input module out from the accommodation space, the door panel can cover the accommodation space to prevent entrance of foreign objects.
References will now be made in detail to exemplary embodiments of the present invention, and examples of the exemplary embodiments will be described in the accompanying drawings. Whenever possible, the same reference numerals are used in the drawings and descriptions to represent the same or similar parts.
Further, the body 110 includes a housing (not shown) and a keyboard module (not shown), and the input module 140 in this embodiment is a touchpad. The door panel 114 is configured to be capable of sliding relative to the accommodation space 112 to expose or cover the accommodation space 112. In this way, when the input module 140 is placed in the accommodation space 112, the door panel 114 can be concealed inside the housing of the body 110. However, the manner in which the door panel 114 is configured is not limited thereto. In other possible implementations, the door panel 114 may be capable of rotating relative to the housing of the body 110 by means of a rotating shaft to expose or cover the accommodation space 112. Alternatively, the door panel 114 may be made of a relatively soft material and can be rolled up to be received adjacent to the accommodation space 112. In addition, an adhesive layer may be provided at a lower part of a side edge of the door panel 114, so that the door panel 114 can be adhered to the housing of the body 110 by the adhesive layer.
As shown in
Please refer to
The first end portion 152 may be exposed by the body 110 and located outside the accommodation space 112, and the second end portion 154 is located inside the accommodation space 112. By means of such a configuration, when the user presses the first end portion 152 of the ejector member 150 with a finger, the first end portion 152 and the second end portion 154 respectively moves downward and upward with the pivot portion 156 as a center of rotation to eject the input module 140 out of the accommodation space 112. Disposing the first end portion 152 outside the accommodation space 112 can prevent the input module 140 from blocking the first end portion 152 and making the user unable to press the first end portion 152 of the ejector member 150 with a finger when the input module 140 is received in the accommodation space 112.
The first end portion 152, the pivot portion 156, and the second end portion 154 may be integrally formed. Alternatively, separate components may be combined together by soldering, adhesion, or other possible means to form an ejector member 150.
In addition, the portable electronic device 100 may further include a button 160 mounted on the first end portion 152. The area of the button 160 is larger than that of the first end portion 152, allowing the user to conveniently press the button 160. Alternatively, the first end portion 152 may be configured into a shape of the button 160 as required.
The portable electronic device 100 may further include a press block 170 connected to an upper part of the second end portion 154. The configuration of the press block 170 can better fill a clearance between the second end portion 154 and the input module 140, so that the user can achieve desirable ejection efficiency by applying a small force to the first end portion 152. In addition, the press block 170 may be made of a relatively soft material to prevent damage to the input module 140 when the press block 170 enters into contact with the input module 140 to eject the input module 140.
