The disclosure and prior art relates to hose storage devices and more particularly pertains to a new hose storage device for selectively storing and dispensing a hose.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a reel. A hose is wrapped around the reel thereby facilitating the hose to be stored. A bracket is coupled to the reel. The bracket guides the hose when the hose is wrapped around the cylinder. A base is provided and the base may be positioned on a support surface. The reel is selectively positioned on the base.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A cylinder 22 is provided. The cylinder 22 is coupled between each of the wheels 16. The first surface 18 corresponding to each of the wheels 16 faces each other. Thus, the hose 14 is wrapped around the cylinder 22. A fastener 24 is coupled to the cylinder 22. The fastener 24 may be a hook or the like.
A bracket 26 is provided. The bracket 26 is coupled to the reel 12. The bracket 26 guides the hose 14 when the hose 14 is wrapped around the cylinder 22. The bracket 26 comprises a pair of uprights 28 and a central member 30 extending between the uprights 28. Each of the uprights 28 has a distal end 32 with respect to the central member 30.
A pair of disks 34 is provided and each of the disks 34 has a peripheral edge 36. The peripheral edge 36 of each disk 34 is coupled to the distal end 32 of an associated one of the uprights 28. Each of the disks 34 is coupled to the second surface 20 of an associated one of the wheels 16. The central member 30 is spaded from the reel 12. An axle 38 is provided. The axle 38 extends through the cylinder 22 and each of the disks 34. The axle 38 has a first end 40.
A crank 42 is provided. The crank 42 is coupled to the first end 40 of the axle 38. The crank 42 may be manipulated thereby facilitating the hose 14 to be wrapped around the cylinder 22. The crank 42 has a leg 44 and a foot 46. The leg 44 is coupled to the associated disk 34 and the foot 46 extends laterally away form the associated disk 34. Thus, the foot 46 may be gripped to rotate the reel 12.
A pair of rods 48 is provided. Each of the rods 48 is coupled to and extends between the pair of uprights 28. The rods 48 are spaced apart from each other. A guide 50 is slidably positioned on each of the rod and the guide 50 freely travels between the pair of uprights 28. The guide 50 has an opening 52 extending therethrough. The hose 14 is extended through the opening 52. Thus, the guide 50 guides the hose 14 when the hose 14 is wrapped around the reel 12.
A base 52 is provided. The base 52 may be positioned on a support surface 53. The support surface 53 may be ground. The reel 12 is selectively positioned on the base 52. Thus, the base 52 supports the reel 12 and the hose 14.
The base 52 comprises a pair of stands 54. Each of the stands 54 has a pair of legs 56 and an arm 58 extending upwardly from the pair of legs 56. Each of the legs 56 abuts the support surface 53. The arm 58 corresponding to each of stands 54 extends upwardly from the support surface 53. Each of the stands 54 has a peripheral edge 59 and the peripheral edge 59 corresponding to each of the stands 54 has a front side 60.
The front side 60 corresponding to each of the stands 54 has a slot 62 extending inwardly therein. The slot 62 corresponding to each of the stands 54 has a bounding edge 64. The bounding edge 64 is curved. Each of the disks 34 on the bracket 26 is positioned in the slot 62 on an associated one of the stands 54 such that the base 52 supports the reel 12.
A panel 66 is provided. The panel 66 is coupled between each of the stands 54. Moreover, the panel 66 is positioned on the arm 58 corresponding to each of the stands 54. The panel 66 has a slot 68 extending therethrough. The slot 68 defines a handle 70. The handle 70 may be gripped thereby facilitating the base 52 and the reel 12 to be carried.
A rack 72 is provided and the rack 72 may be coupled to a vertical support surface 53. The rack 72 includes a pair of grips 74. The reel 12 is selectively positioned on the rack 72. Each of the grips 74 engages the central member 30 of the bracket 26. Thus, the reel 12 is suspended from the rack 72 to store the reel 12.
In use, the reel 12 is positioned on the base 52. The hose 14 is extended through the guide 50 and the hose 14 is coupled to the fastener 24 on the cylinder 22. The crank 42 is manipulated to wrap the hose 14 around the reel 12. The reel 12 is selectively removed from the base 52 and positioned on the rack 72. The hose 14 is manipulated in the convention of garden hoses.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
