Abstract
A portable locking, styling and designing, hair beading apparatus with a length of lacing. The apparatus holds a plurality of beads without tangling and knotting. Attaches to a table top or wall for example; with a suction cup, has a long-term locking mechanism making the filled apparatus portable using the loop, button and suction cup. Has a short-term locking mechanism using the loop and hook, for intermittent breaks while in use. Also has a cord lock to control the position of beads along the length of the lacing, keeping the beads within easy reach to transfer to the braid.
Description
BACKGROUND OF (THE) INVENTION

This field of the invention is related to the mechanisms that make the apparatus a portable, lockable, styling and design tool for hair beading.

It is very common for people to form their hair into a series of braids. Once braided the hair is then adorned with beads. Those beads are transferred onto the braids using thread or string, which tangles and knots, or with a beading wand. The wands hold 4-10 beads, and a beaded style could have 10 or more beads on each braid. To complete a beaded style would mean stopping to reload the wand after each braid is beaded, in the desired design pattern. That is a time consuming, stop and go process. The limited number of beads the wand can hold is a significant constraint. It hinders the ability to pre-design a beaded pattern without using a multitude of wands. Finally, if multiple wands were beaded, they are not easily transported without beads falling off.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The broader purpose of the present invention is to provide a portable locking, styling and designing, hair beading apparatus and more particularly an apparatus that is formed of a length of lacing that resist tangling and knotting, with a long-term locking system for portability. A short-term locking system for intermittent breaks. A cord lock to control the position of beads along the length of the lacing.

The lacing allows for pre-designing a beaded pattern holding a plurality of beads on a single device. It attaches to a table top or wall for example; with a suction cup, has a long-term locking mechanism making the apparatus portable using the loop, suction cup, and button. Has a short-term locking mechanism using the loop and hook, for intermittent breaks. Also has a cord lock to control the position of beads along the length of the lacing, keeping them within easy reach to transfer to the braid.

The needle is used to thread beads onto the lacing in the desired color pattern or design. The loop is used to transfer the bead onto the hair. The hair is passed through the loop then the beads are pushed onto the braid. Then the hair is removed from the loop. With the present invention it is possible to bead multiple braids before the need to re-bead the apparatus.

Additional advantages of the invention will be quickly perceptible to those skilled in the art to which the invention pertains upon reference to the following detailed description.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

The description refers to the accompanying drawings in which like reference characters refer to like parts throughout several views, and in which:

FIG. 1 a view of a preferred apparatus, and length of lacing to hold a plurality of beads.

FIG. 2-3 illustrates the sequence of steps employed to use the long-term locking mechanism.

FIG. 4-5 illustrates the sequence of steps employed to use the short-term locking mechanism.

FIG. 6 illustrates cord lock engaged to control the position of beads along the length of the lacing, keeping them within easy reach to transfer to the braid.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawing, FIG. 1 illustrates a preferred portable locking styling and designing hair beading apparatus with a needle end 10, formed by folding the lacing and gluing it back to itself, a loop 12, where the two sides of the lacing are left unglued, closing the loop by again gluing the lacing to itself. A length of lacing 14 to hold a plurality of beads 22, the lacing fed through a button 16 and gluing back on itself, gluing the button a suction cup 18 with hook 20, and a cord lock 24.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3 the preferred method comprises using the long-term locking mechanism. After the apparatus is loaded with beads the beaded designs can be locked on the apparatus by holding in one hand 26, by the button stopper and in the other hand 28 opening the loop 12 placing the loop 12 over the suction cup 18. FIG. 3, The loop will now rest between the button 16 and suction cup 18. The apparatus can now be transported without the risk of the beaded design falling off.

Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5 the preferred method comprises using the short-term locking mechanism for intermittent breaks while the apparatus is in use. Attach the suction cup 18 to a wall or table top for example. Holding in one hand 26, by the needle and in the other hand 28 the bottom of the loop 12 pinch the loop together so that it opens. Placing the loop 12 over the hook 20. FIG. 5, The loop will now rest on the hook 20. The apparatus is now engaged for an intermittent break without the risk of the beaded design falling off.

Referring to FIG. 6 the preferred method comprises using the cord lock 24, to control the position of beads along the length of lacing while the apparatus is in use. Slide the cord lock 24 up the length of the lacing toward the loop, engage immediately below the beads, this controls the position of beads along the length of the lacing. Keeping the beads within easy reach to transfer to the braid.

Claims
  • 1. A portable locking styling and designing hair beading apparatus comprising: a needle and loop formed at one end of a length of lacing that holds a plurality of beads while resisting knotting or tangling allowing for pre-design of beaded patterns;a button and suction cup with hook glued to the adjacent end of the length of lacing;a cord lock that slides up and down the length of lacing when engaged controls the position of the beads keeping them within easy reach to transfer to the braid;a long-term locking mechanism for portability;a short-term locking mechanism for intermittent breaks.
  • 2. A method of engaging the locking mechanisms, comprising the steps of: forming a needle by folding the lacing and gluing it back to itself, a loop where the two sides of the lacing are left unglued, closing the loop by again gluing the lacing to itself;placing the loop over the suction cup with hook, resting between the button and suction cup;engaging a long-term locking mechanism, preventing beads from falling off the lacing, making pre-beaded designs portable.
  • 3. A method as defined in claim 2, comprising the steps of: attaching the suction cup with hook to a wall or table top for example;placing the loop on the hook;engaging a short-term locking mechanism, for intermittent breaks while the beading apparatus is in use, preventing beads from falling off the lacing.
