Claims
- 1. A communication device, comprising:a power amplifier having a distortion compensating circuit compensating for distortion of a power amplification element, a voltage supply means supplying a voltage to said power amplifier, and a control circuit controlling the output voltage of said voltage supply means in response to a power level of a signal input to said power amplifier or a power level of a signal output from said power amplifier, and adjusting the distortion compensation amount of the distortion compensation circuit based on the output voltage of said voltage supply means.
- 2. The communication device according to claim 1, further comprising a detection circuit detecting the power level of the signal input to said power amplifier or the power level of the signal output from said power amplifier, wherein the output voltage of said voltage supply means is controlled based on said power level of the input or output signal detected by said detection circuit.
- 3. The communication device according to claim 1, wherein said power amplification element is a bipolar transistor and said distortion compensating circuit is disposed between a base of said bipolar transistor and a base voltage supply means.
- 4. The communication device according to claim 1, wherein said signal includes an amplitude modulation component.
- 5. The communication device according to claim 1, wherein said distortion compensation circuit includes a variable impedance element, and wherein the distortion compensation amount of the distortion compensation circuit is adjusted by controlling a voltage across the variable impedance element.
