Claims
- 1. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a cam element movable to a plurality of engaging positions;
- a cam follower abutting a cam surface of said cam element and moved by said cam surface due to movement of said cam element;
- a detecting element for detecting a position of said cam follower; and
- a section to be detected, provided on said cam follower for providing at least three different output values to said detecting element respectively representing different positions of said cam element.
- 2. An engaging mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said detecting element is a photoelectric sensor.
- 3. An engaging mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said section to be detected has one of at least three different transmissivities, three different reflectivities and three different distances from said detecting element to be detected.
- 4. An engaging mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said cam follower is so biased as to be abutted against said cam surface by elastic force.
- 5. An engaging mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said cam follower is a lever element which undergoes angular movement.
- 6. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a cam element movable to a plurality of engaging positions;
- a cam follower abutting a cam surface of said cam element and moved by said cam surface due to movement of said cam element;
- a detecting element for detecting a position of said cam follower;
- a section to be detected, provided on said cam follower for providing at least three different output values to said detecting element respectively representing different positions of said cam element; and
- said cam follower is a pin stopper which performs advancing and retracting movement along a given path.
- 7. An engaging mechanism including a cam element and an engaging element, comprising:
- said cam element being movable to at least two different engaging positions separated by a given distance;
- means for rotating said cam element toward each of said positions by rotation of a driving source in one direction;
- biasing means for causing said engaging element to follow said cam element;
- engaging means including said engaging element for preventing rotation of said cam element responsive to rotation of said driving source in another direction; and
- a cam surface provided on said cam element for moving said engaging element, and capable of changing a position of said engaging means at at least said two engaging positions of same cam element wherein a position at one of said engaging positions is different from a position at another of said engaging positions.
- 8. An engaging mechanism according to claim 7, wherein said rotational force of said cam element is a revolution force of a planetary gear which revolves integrally with said cam element.
- 9. An engaging mechanism according to claim 7, wherein said cam element is movable to at least three engaging positions, one of said at least three engaging positions of said cam element moves the engaging element to a position which is different with respect to a position of said engaging element for all other engaging positions.
- 10. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a cam element for performing a predetermined operation;
- a cam follower abutted against a cam surface of said cam element, said cam follower being engaged with said cam element in a plurality of modes; and
- detecting means for detecting a position of said cam follower, said detecting means producing a first output value at a time a detected position of said cam follower corresponds to a predetermined position of said cam element said first output value being different from an output value produced by said detecting means at a time the detecting means detects a position of said cam follower which corresponds to any other position occupied by said cam element.
- 11. An engaging mechanism according to claim 10, wherein the predetermined position of said cam element is an initial position of said cam element.
- 12. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a moving element being moved for performing predetermined operations;
- an engaging element engaging said moving element at a plurality of positions during said movement, said engaging element being displaced to different positions at respective engaging states; and
- detecting means for detecting displacement of said engaging element, said detecting means producing a first output value thereof at a time a displacement of said engaging element corresponding to a predetermined position of said moving element is detected, and a second output value different from said first value at a time a displacement of said engaging element corresponds to any other engaging position of said moving element is detected.
- 13. An engaging mechanism according to claim 12, wherein said predetermined position of said moving element is an initial position in movement of said moving element.
- 14. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a moving element moved for performing a predetermined operation;
- an engaging element engaging said moving element at a plurality of positions within a moving range, said engaging element being displaced to different positions at respective engaging states; and
- detecting means for detecting displacement of said engaging element, said detecting means producing an output value thereof which is a first value under a state in which said moving element is in a predetermined position, and a second value different from said first value under a state in which said moving element is in any remaining one of said plurality of positions.
- 15. An engaging mechanism according to claim 14, wherein said predetermined position of said moving element is an initial position in movement of said moving element.
- 16. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a cam element for performing a predetermined operation;
- an engaging element for engaging said cam element in a plurality of modes, said engaging element being displaced at a plurality of states in a case where said cam element is engaged;
- sensing means opposed to at least a portion of said engaging element, for detecting displacement of said engaging element; and
- an element to be detected formed integrally with said engaging element, said element to be detected being formed such that outputs from said sensing means are different from each other in a state where said cam element is in an initial position and a state where said cam element is in any remaining one of said plurality of positions.
- 17. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a cam element for performing a predetermined operation;
- an engaging element engaging said cam element in a plurality of modes, said engaging element being displaced to a plurality of modes in a case where said cam element is engaged;
- a photoelectric sensor opposed to at least a portion of said engaging element, and having a light projecting element and a light receiving element; and
- reflecting means formed integrally with said engaging element, for reflecting a light emitted from said light projecting element of said photoelectric sensor, to said light receiving element, said reflecting means being so formed that levels of a reflecting light incident upon said light receiving means are different from each other at least in an initial position and another position of said engaging element.
- 18. An engaging mechanism according to claim 17, wherein said cam follower is a pin stopper mounted for reciprocating movement.
- 19. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a cam element for performing a predetermined operation;
- an engaging element for engaging said cam element in a plurality of modes, said engaging element being displaced to a plurality of positions in a case where said cam element is engaged;
- a photo-interrupter opposed to at least a portion of said engaging element, and having a light projecting element and a light receiving element; and
- transparent means formed integrally with said engaging element, so that a light emitted from said light projecting element toward said light receiving element impinges upon said transparent means, said transparent means being so formed that levels of light incident upon said light receiving means are different from each other at least in an initial position and another position of said engaging element.
- 20. An engaging mechanism comprising:
- a cam element for Performing a predetermined operation;
- an engaging element for engaging said cam element in a plurality of modes, said engaging element being displaced at a plurality of states in a case where said cam element is engaged;
- sensing means opposed to at least a portion of said engaging element, for detecting displacement of said engaging element;
- an element to be detected formed integrally with said engaging element, said element to be detected being formed such that outputs from said sensing means are different from each other in a state where said cam element is in an initial position and a state where said cam element is in an remaining one of said plurality of positions; and
- said cam follower is a pin stopper mounted for reciprocating movement.
