Claims
- 1. A power transmission chain comprising:
a plurality of interleaved inside links, each of said inside links having a pair of apertures, said inside links being interleaved and connected in a series of rows, a plurality of guide links, each of said guide links having a pair of apertures, said guide links being placed on the outside of alternate rows of said interleaved inside links to form guide rows, connecting pins received in said apertures, said connecting pins extending across said rows of said chain and having ends secured within said apertures of said guide links thereby connecting said inside links and said guide links, and at least one spacing element located along each said guide link, said spacing elements acting to maintain a spaced relationship between each said guide link and an adjacent outermost inside link.
- 2. The power transmission chain of claim 1, wherein said spacing elements are washer members disposed about said connecting pins and located between said guide links and said outermost inside links.
- 3. The power transmission chain of claim 1, wherein said spacing elements are a plurality of protruding members formed on an outer face of said outermost inside links and projecting toward said guide links.
- 4. The power transmission chain of claim 1, wherein said spacing elements are a plurality of protruding members.
- 5. The power transmission chain of claim 4, wherein said plurality of protruding members are integral to each said guide link.
- 6. The power transmission chain of claim 5, wherein said plurality of protruding members are integral to each said guide link and project toward said outermost inside links.
- 7. The power transmission chain of claim 6, wherein said plurality of protruding members include a pair of members formed on an inside surface of each said guide link, said pair of members being located beneath said apertures.
- 8. The power transmission chain of claim 6, wherein said plurality of protruding elements are two pairs of members formed on an inside surface of each said guide link, one pair of said members being located beneath said apertures and the remaining pair of said members being located above said apertures.
- 9. The power transmission chain of claim 1, wherein said connecting pins further comprise a rocker member and a pin member, said pin member being press fit into said apertures of said guide links.
- 10. The power transmission chain of claim 1, wherein said connecting pins are round members.
- 11. An endless power transmission chain-belt adapted to interconnect the pulleys of a pulley transmission comprising:
a plurality of sets of interleaved links, each of said plurality of sets of interleaved links including a plurality of link plates, said plurality of link plates including a pair of outermost link plates, said pair of outermost link plates positioned on opposite side flanks of each said set of interleaved links; connecting pins joining said sets of interleaved links permitting articulation thereof, load blocks having side edges to engage said pulleys; and a plurality of protruding members located along said outermost link plates on an inside face thereof, said protruding members acting to maintain a spaced relationship between said outermost link plates and the remaining link plates in each said sets of links.
- 12. A power transmission chain comprising:
a plurality of interleaved inside links, each of said inside links having a pair of apertures and at least one depending tooth adapted to contact the teeth of an associated sprocket, said inside links being interleaved and connected in a series of rows, a plurality of guide links, each of said guide links having a pair of apertures, said guide links being placed on the outside of alternate rows of said interleaved inside links to form guide rows, connecting pins comprising a rocker member and a pin member received in said apertures, said pin members extending across said rows of said chain and having ends press fit within apertures in said guide links, said rocker members extending across said rows of said chain and rotating against said pin members, said connecting pins connecting said inside links and said guide links, and said guide links having spacing elements formed along said guide links and projecting inwardly toward said interleaved inside links, said spacing elements acting to maintain a spaced relationship between said guide links and said outermost inner links in said guide rows.
- 13. The power transmission chain of claim 12, wherein said spacing elements are integral to said guide links.
- 14. The power transmission chain of claim 13, wherein said spacing elements are integral to said guide links and project toward said outermost inside links.
- 15. The power transmission chain of claim 14, wherein said spacing elements are a pair of protruding members formed on an inside surface of said guide links.
- 16. The power transmission chain of claim 15, wherein said protruding members are two pairs of protruding members formed on an inside surface of each said guide link, one pair of said protruding members being located beneath said apertures and the remaining pair of said curved elements being located above said apertures.
- 17. The power transmission chain of claim 12, wherein said spacing elements are formed on an outer face of said outermost inside links and project toward said guide links.
- 18. The power transmission chain of claim 12, wherein said spacing elements are curved end portions of said guide links which act to maintain a spaced relationship between said guide links and said outermost inner links.
- 19. The power transmission chain of claim 12, wherein said spacing elements are curved mid-portions of said guide links which act to maintain a spaced relationship between said guide links and said outermost inner links.
- 20. The power transmission chain of claim 12, wherein said spacing elements are washer members disposed about said connecting pins and located between said guide links and said outermost inside links.
