Abstract
A pre-sewn hair weft that includes a plurality of layers of hair, a plurality of loops that are fixed to the layers of hair and plurality of beads with one of the plurality of beads slidably fixed to each one of the loops, and a method of assembling the pre-sewn weft hair extension on an individual.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present disclosure relates generally to hair and hair extensions and more specifically to a pre-sewn hair extensions and method that significantly reduces installation time of pre-sewn hair extensions.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In general, hair extensions are well known. Hair extensions, such as weft hair extensions, can be applied to an individual's natural hair, for example, by a stylist using various methods. One such method requires sectioning, beading and stitching. Such existing processes can be extremely time consuming.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present disclosure broadly relates to pre-sewn weft hair extensions and the method of applying the same to an individual's natural hair. The pre-sewn weft hair extension can be installed on an individual with unprecedented efficiency and customization. The pre-sewn wefts are stacked to match individualized color preferences, pre-beaded, and meticulously sewn. This allows, for example, a stylist the ability to easily section an individual's hair and pull each section of hair through a top loop of the pre-sewn hair weft that is securely attached to the bead. Subsequently, crimping the bead being the only remaining step.

In an embodiment, the present disclosure is directed to a pre-sewn hair weft comprising a plurality of layers of hair, a plurality of loops that are fixed to the layers of hair and a plurality of beads with one of the plurality of beads slidably fixed to each one of the loops.

In an embodiment, about one to three layers of hair are fixed to each other. For example, the layers of hair can be sewn together using blanket stitching across the top of the weft. The loops, which can be comprised of a polymer such as a plastic, are movably fixed to the weft about the region of the weft that the layers of hair are fixed to each other, and a bead is slidably attached to each loop. The beads can, for example, be comprised of a polymer, metal, elastomer or a combination thereof. In an embodiment, the beads can, for example, be comprised of aluminum with a silicone liner. The weft can be sealed at each end and the loops can be reused to reloop, as desired. The layers of hair can be comprised of natural hair. The layers of hair can be comprised of synthetic material.

In an embodiment, beads are sewn onto the weft, resembling a foundation upon which one weft rests behind it, and one to three wefts lay in front. These layers are sewn together using blanket stitching across the top. The loops are inserted through the beads amidst the wefts facilitate effortless sectioning.

In an embodiment, the present disclosure is directed to a method of assembling a pre-sewn weft hair extension on an individual. The comprises the following steps: providing a pre-sewn weft that includes a plurality of layers of hair, a plurality of beads and a plurality of loops with the loops moveably attached to the weft and one of the beads slidably fixed to each one of the loops; sectioning an individual's hair along a back of a head of the individual. Following the sectioning of an individual's hair, the pre-sewn weft is clipped about two inches below the sectioned portion of hair. Then, each strand of hair of each sectioned portion is threaded through the loop, pulling it through the bead that was initially attached to the loop. A slide and crimp action using pliers is used to complete the process along the entire weft.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a pre-sewn weft according to an embodiment of the present disclosure; and

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of features of the pre-sewn weft of FIG. 1, including the pre-sewn beads and loops.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings and in particular FIGS. 1 and 2, embodiments of the pre-sewn weft of the present disclosure, which is generally designated by reference numeral 10, will be described.

FIG. 1 illustrates an embodiment of the pre-sewn weft 10. The weft 10 includes, a plurality of layers of hair 12, a plurality of beads 14 and a plurality of loops 16.

In an embodiment, about one to three layers of hair 12 are fixed to each other. For example, the layers of hair 12 can be sewn together using blanket stitching across the top of the weft 10. The loops 16, which can be comprised of a polymer such as a plastic, are movably fixed to the weft 10 about an upper region of the weft 10 that the layers of hair 12 are fixed to each other, and a bead 14 is slidably attached to each loop 16.

The loops can be comprised of a polymer. The beads 14 can, for example, be comprised of a polymer, metal, elastomer or a combination thereof. In an embodiment, the beads 14 can, for example, be comprised of aluminum with a silicone liner. The weft 10 can be sealed at each end and the loops 16 can be reused to reloop, as desired.

In an embodiment, the beads 14 are fixed to the weft 10 with, for example, a layer of hair 12 resting behind each of the beads 14 and one to three layers of hair 12 are arranged in front of each of the beads 14. These layers of hair 12 are fixed to each other, for example, using blanket stitching across the top of the weft 10. The loops 16 are inserted through the beads 14 to aid in ease of use.

In an embodiment, an individual's hair is sectioned. Subsequently, the pre-sewn weft 10 is clipped below the sectioned portion of hair. Then, each strand of hair of each sectioned portion is threaded through a loop 16, pulling the strands of hair through the bead 14 that is attached to the loop 16. Using pliers or the like, the bead 14 is crimped to hold the section of hair in place with respect to the weft 10. This is then repeated for each sectioned portion of hair.

The present disclosure not only minimizes the installation time drastically because the loops and beads are already moveably fixed to the weft 10, elevating user experience, marking a significant advancement in the world of hair weft installation.

Although this invention has been disclosed in the context of certain embodiments and examples, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that the invention extends beyond the specifically disclosed embodiments to other alternative embodiments and/or uses of the invention and obvious modifications and equivalents thereof. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. In addition, while several variations of the embodiments of the invention have been shown and described in detail, other modifications, which are within the scope of this invention, including, but not limited to, the substitutions of equivalent features, materials, or parts, will be readily apparent to those of skill in the art based upon this disclosure without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
