PRE-TIED NECKTIE

Abstract

A pre-tied necktie includes first, second, third and fourth strips of necktie fabrics, respectively having a first neck portion and a second neck portion. The first and second neck portions are attached together to form a first neck band and the third and fourth neck portions are attached together to form a second neck band. In addition, the pre-tied necktie further includes a fastening means to fasten the first and second neck bands to tie the pre-tied necktie around a user's neck. The first and third tails are tied together to form a first knot and the second and fourth tails are tied together to form a second knot. A third, knot may be formed below the first and second knots by tying the strips. The first, second, and third knots are V-shaped tapering upward.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a pre-tied necktie having four strips, and more particularly, to a. pre-tied necktie having pre-knots and an adjustable attachment means.

The present invention provides a pre-tied necktie having four strips.

The object of the present invention is to provide a pre-tied necktie, having first, second, third and fourth strips of necktie fabrics, respectively having a first neck portion and a second neck portion. The first and second neck portions are attached together to form a first neck band and the third and fourth neck portions are attached together to form a second neck band. In addition, the pre-tied necktie further includes a fastening means to fasten the first and second neck bands to tie the pre-tied necktie around a user's neck. The first and third tails are tied together to form a first knot and the second and fourth tails are tied together to form a second knot. A third knot may be formed below the first and second knots by tying the strips, The first, second, and third knots are V-shaped tapering upward.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a pre-tied necktie, having first, second, third and fourth strips of necktie fabrics, respectively having a first, neck, portion and a second neck portion. The first and second neck portions are attached together to form a first neck band and the third and fourth neck portions are attached together to form a second neck band. The first and second tails are tied to the third and fourth tails to form a first knot. Alternatively, the first and third tails may be tied to the second and fourth tails to form a first knot.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide a pre-tied necktie, having first, second, third and fourth strips of necktie fabrics, respectively having a first neck portion and a second neck portion. The first and second neck portions are attached together to form a first neck band and the third and fourth neck portions are attached together to form a second neck band. The first and second tails are tied together to form a first knot and the third and fourth tails are tied together to form a second knot. The strips may be sewn together right above the knots.

The advantages of the present invention are: (1) the present invention provides a pre-tied necktie having pre-knots and an adjustable attachment means; (2) the necktie of the present invention can be worn without tying a knot and removed without untying the knot; (3) the pre-tied necktie of the present invention has a permanently knotted necktie; (4) it is very easy and simple to wear or take off the pre-tied necktie of the present invention; and (5) the pre-tied necktie of the present invention is aesthetical and structured to offer a variety of different styles.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

Reference will new be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this disclosure, It is to be understood that this invention is not limited to the specific devices, methods, conditions or parameters described and/or shown herein, and that the terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments by way of example only and is not intended to be limiting of the claimed invention.

Also, as used in the specification including the appended claims, the singular forms “a”, “an”, and “the”include the plural, and reference to a particular numerical value includes at least that particular value, unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Ranges may be expressed herein as from “about” or “approximately” one particular value and/or to “about” or “approximately” another particular value. When such a range is expressed, another embodiment includes from the one particular value and/or to the other particular value. The present invention relates to a pre-tied necktie having four strips, and more particularly, to a pre-tied necktie having pre-knots and an adjustable attachment means.

FIG. 1 shows an unfolded view of a pre-tied necktie of the present invention and FIG. 2 shows a pre-tied necktie according to one embodiment of the present invention.

The pre-tied necktie includes a first strip 10 of necktie fabric having a first neck portion 11 and a first tail 12, a second strip 20 of necktie fabric having a second neck portion 21 and a second tail 22, a third strip 30 of necktie fabric having a third neck portion 31 and a third tail 32, and a fourth strip 40 of necktie fabric having a fourth neck portion 41 and a fourth tail 42. The first and second neck portions 11 and 21 are attached together to form a first neck band 60 and the third and fourth neck portions 31 and 41 are attached together to form a second neck band 70. Preferably, the neck portions are attached by sewing to form the neck bands 60 and 70.

The pre-tied necktie further includes a fastening means 50 to fasten the first and second neck bands 60 and 70 to tie the pre-tied necktie around a user's neck. Preferably, the fastening means 50 is a hook and loop fastener, it can be any other means suitable to fasten the pre-tied necktie around a user's neck. The fastening means 50 may further include a length adjustment means (not shown).

The first and third tails 12 and 32 are tied together to form a first knot 80 and the second and fourth tails 22 and 42 are tied together to form a second knot 82 as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.

The first and second knots 80 and 82 may he V-shaped tapering downward as shown in FIG, 2 or V-shaped tapering upward as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5.

After forming the first and second knots 80 and 82, the first and third tails 12 and 32 are tied to the second and fourth tails 22 and 42 to form a third knot 84. The first and second knots 80 and 82 are side by side and the third knot 84 is below the first and second knots 80 and 82.

All the first, second, and third knots 80, 82 and 84 may be V-shaped tapering downward as in FIG. 3, or V-shaped tapering upward as in FIG. 4.

The pre-tied necktie may further comprise a knot cover(s) 90 to wrap around a knot. FIGS. 11(a), 11(b) and 11(c) show a knot cover 90. Preferably, there are two or three knot covers such that first, second, and third knot covers, if any, respectively cover the first, second and third knots 80, 82 and 84 to form a V-shape tapering upward. The know cover 90 is preferably in the shape of a truncated cone to help form and maintain upward tapering of the knots 80, 82 and 84.

FIG. 11(a) shows the knot cover 90 in the shape of a truncated cone and FIG. 11(b) shows an unfolded view of the knot cover 90. The knot cover 90 may have a cover fastening means 31. The cover fastening means 91 may be any suitable fastening means known to a person of ordinary skill in the art. The cover fastening means 91 may be a snap fastener or Velcrow (hook and loop fastener).

The first, second, and third knot covers may have a cover fastening means. FIG. 11(b) shows the snap fastener 91 formed on lower part of the cone and the upper part may foe sewn together to form the truncated cone shaped knot cover 90.

Instead of a knot cover 90, a knot may be sewn to preserve its upwardly tapering shape and/or a triangular shaped insert may be inserted in a knot before being sewn.

There are a number of ways to tie a necktie, for example, four in hand, half Windsor, Windsor, shell knot, cross knot, simple knot, trend, knot, double cross knot, prince Albert knot, plain knot, etc. Preferably, the first, second, and/or third knots 80, 82 and/or 84 are made in Windsor fashion.

FIGS. 8 and 9 show alternative embodiments of the present invention. The pre-tied necktie includes a first strip 10 of necktie fabric having a first neck portion 11 and a first tail 12, a second strip 20 of necktie fabric having a second neck portion 21 and a second tail 22, a third strip 30 of necktie fabric having a third neck portion 31 and a third tail 32, and a fourth strip 40 of necktie fabric having a fourth neck portion 41 and a fourth tail 42. The pre-tied necktie further includes a fastening means 50 to fasten the necktie around a user's neck.

The first and second neck portions 11 and 21 are attached together to form a first neck band 60 and the third and fourth neck portions 31 and 41 are attached together to form a second neck band 70. The fastening means 50 fastens the first and second neck bands 60 and 70 to tie the pre-tied necktie around a user's neck.

In the embodiments of FIGS. 8 and 9, the first and second tails 12 and 22 are tied to the third and fourth tails 32 and 42 to form a first knot 80. Alternatively, the first and third tails 12 and 32 may be tied to the second and fourth tails 22 and 42 to form a first knot 80.

After forming the first knot 80, the first and third tails 12 and 32 are tied together to form a second knot 82 and the second and fourth tails 22 and 42 are tied together to form a third knot 84. Alternatively, the first and second tails 12 and 22 are tied together to form a second knot 82 and the third and fourth tails 32 and 42 are tied together to form a third knot 84. In either case, the second and third knots 82 and 84 are side by side and the first knot 80 is above the second and third knots 82 and 84.

The first, second, and third knots may be V-shaped tapering upward as in FIG. 8 or V-shaped tapering downward (not shown). In case of the knots tapering upward, the pre-tied necktie may further include a knot cover(s). First, second, and third knot covers may respectively cover the first, second and third knots 80, 82 and 84 to form the V-shaped knots tapering upward.

In addition, the first, second and third knots 80, 82 and 84 may be made in Windsor fashion.

FIGS. 6 and 7 show another alternative embodiments of the present invention. In FIG. 7, the strips are sewn together right above the knots.

The pre-tied necktie comprises a first strip 10 of necktie fabric having a first neck portion 11 and a first tail 12, a second strip 20 of necktie fabric having a second neck portion 21 and a second tail 22, a third strip 30 of necktie fabric having a third neck portion 31 and a third tail 32, and a fourth strip 40 of necktie fabric having a fourth neck portion 41 and a fourth tail 42. The first and second neck portions 11 and 21 are attached together to form a first neck band 60 and the third and fourth neck portions 31 and 41 are attached together to form a second neck band 70. The pre-tied necktie further comprises a fastening means 50 to fasten the first and second neck bands 60 and 70 to tie the pre-tied necktie around a user's neck. In these embodiments, the first and second tails 12 and 22 are tied together to form a first knot 80 and the third and fourth tails 32 and 42 are tied together to form a second knot 82.

After forming the first and second knots 80 and 82, a third knot 84 is formed between the first and second knots 80 and 82 by tying the tails 12, 22, 32, and 42.

The first, second, and third knots 80, 82 and 84 may be V-shaped tapering upward or V-shaped tapering downward.

The pre-tied necktie may further comprise a first knot cover, a second knot cover, and a third knot cover wherein the first, second, and third knot covers respectively cover the first, second and third knots 80, 82 and 84 to form a V-shape tapering upward. Preferably, the first, second and third knots 80, 82 and 84 are made in Windsor fashion.

FIGS. 12(a)˜12(h) show plan views of pre-tied neckties according to the present invention. The pre-tied necktie comprises a first strip of necktie fabric having a first neck portion and a first tail and a second strip of necktie fabric having a second, neck portion and a second tail. The pre-tied necktie further comprises a fastening means to fasten the necktie around a user's neck and the fastening means fastens the first and second neck portions. The first and second strips are folded together to make a knot. Once the knot is made, the folded part is sewn together to preserve the knot and affix the first and second strips together at the knot. The pre-tied necktie of these embodiments are called “Proud Necktie”.

In FIG. 12(a), the first and second strips are folded and overlapped to make a knot in the middle hanging downward. Then, the knot is sewn to attach the first and second strips together and preserve the shape of the knot. A metal may be used to make a narrower part of the strip tails. Additionally, a round metal may be attached to the center of the knot in order to provide an attachment means for a variety of ornaments. Using the round metal, an ornament may be attached to the knot.

In FIG. 12(b), the strips are folded and overlapped together to form a triangular knot. Then, the knot is sewn.

In FIG. 12(c), the strips are folded and overlapped together to form a “y ”-shaped knot. In FIGS. 12(d), 12(e) and 12(f), the strips are folded and overlapped to form the know as shown. A metal may or may not be used to provide a narrower part of the strip tails.

In FIGS. 12(g) and 12(h), the strips are sewn together and separate knots are attached to the strips by sewing.

While the invention has been shown and described with reference to different embodiments thereof, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that variations in form, detail, compositions and operation may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the accompanying claims.

3. The pre-tied necktie of claim 1, wherein the first and third tails are tied to the second and fourth tails to form a third knot, wherein the first and second knots are side by side and the third knot is below the first and second knots.

4. The pre-tied necktie of claim 3, wherein the first, second, and third knots are V-shaped tapering downward.

5. The pre-tied necktie of claim 3, wherein the first, second, and third knots are V-shaped tapering upward.

6. The pre-tied necktie of claim 5, further comprising a first knot cover, a second knot cover, and a third knot cover wherein the first, second, and third knot covers respectively cover the first, second and third knots to form a V-shape tapering upward.

7. The pre-tied necktie of claim 6, wherein the first, second, and third knot covers have a cover fastening means.

8. The pre-tied necktie of claim 7, wherein the first and fastening means is a snap fastener.

9. The pre-tied necktie of claim 1, wherein the fastening means is a hook and loop fastener.

10. The pre-tied necktie of claim 1, wherein the first and second knots are made in Windsor fashion.

A pre-tied necktie, comprising: a first strip of necktie fabric having a first neck portion and a first tail;a second strip of necktie fabric having a second neck portion and a second tail;a third strip of necktie fabric having a third neck portion and a third tail;a fourth strip of necktie fabric having a fourth neck portion and a fourth tail; anda fastening means,

13. The pre-tied necktie of claim 12, wherein the first, second, and third knots are V-shaped tapering upward.

14. The pre-tied necktie of claim 13, further comprising a first knot cover, a second, knot cover, and a third knot cover wherein the first, second, and third knot covers respectively cover the first, second and third knots to font a V-shape tapering upward.

15. The pre-tied necktie of claim 12, wherein the first, second and third knots are made in Windsor fashion.

A pre-tied necktie, comprising: a first strip of necktie fabric having a first neck portion and a first tail;a second strip of necktie fabric having a second neck portion and a second tail;a third strip of necktie fabric having a third neck portion and a third tail;a fourth strip of necktie fabric having a fourth neck portion and a fourth tail; anda fastening means,

18. The pre-tied necktie of claim 17, wherein the first and second, and third knots are V-shaped tapering upward.

19. The pre-tied necktie of claim 18, further comprising a first knot cover, a second knot, cover, and a third knot-cover wherein the first, second,, and third knot covers respectively cover the first, second and third knots to form a V-shape tapering upward.
