Claims
- 1. A precision metering multiple fluid pumping system comprising;
- main reciprocating piston pump means for pumping a primary fluid;
- auxiliary pump means for pumping a secondary fluid;
- link means linking said auxiliary pump means directly to a reciprocating piston rod of said main reciprocating piston pump means for operation in unison therewith;
- said link means comprising an oscillating arm attached to a piston rod of said auxiliary pump means, and gear means connecting said oscillating arm to said main pump piston rod;
- continuously adjustable connecting means connecting said auxiliary pump means to said oscillating arm for adjusting the ratio of secondary fluid to primary fluid pumped over a predetermined range;
- said continuously adjustable means comprising adjustable connecting means connecting said auxiliary pump means to said oscillating arm
- said continuously adjustable connecting means comprising a worm screw mounted in said oscillating arm, an adjustable connecting shaft connecting said auxiliary pump means to said worm screw, and rotating means for rotating said worm screw to adjust the connecting point of said adjustable connecting shaft to continuously vary the length of the pumping stroke of said auxiliary pump means
- whereby the amount of secondary fluid pumped may be precisely metered.
- 2. The system according to claim 1 including means for indicating the ratio of secondary fluid to primary fluid being pumped by said auxiliary pump means.
- 3. The system according to claim 2 in which said indicating means comprises; a scale on said oscillating arm; and a pointer mounted on said adjustable shaft to indicate the connecting position of said auxiliary pump means and the relative percent of secondary fluid being pumped.
- 4. The system according to claim 3 in which said indicating means includes a flow meter connected to the output of said auxiliary pump means to confirm the flow as well as the amount of secondary fluid being pumped.
- 5. The system according to claim 4 in which said auxiliary pump means comprises a plurality of auxiliary pumps connected to said main pump.
- 6. The system according to claim 5 in which said plurality of auxiliary pumps are independently adjustable for delivering different fluids at different rates.
- 7. The system according to claim 6 in which said main pump is a dual in-line pump; said plurality of auxiliary pumps comprise up to four auxiliary pumps.
- 8. The system according to claim 7 in which said auxiliary pump means comprises a plurality of auxiliary pumps connected to said main pump.
