Claims
- 1. A pregnane derivative of the general formula ##STR40## wherein A.sup.1 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, and A.sup.2 is such that where A.sup.1 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, A.sup.2 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted and that where A.sup.1 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, A.sup.2 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, or A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 jointly represent an oxo group (.dbd.O); D.sup.1 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted, and D.sup.2 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, or D.sup.1 and D.sup.2 jointly represent an epoxy group (--O--) which is in the .alpha.-configuration or a single bond; D.sup.3 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, D.sup.4 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, D.sup.5 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, D.sup.6 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an acyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group or an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, D.sup.7 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom; provided that D.sup.3 and D.sup.4 may jointly represent an epoxy group (--O--) which is in the .alpha.-configuration or a single bond, D.sup.4 and D.sup.5 may jointly represent a single bond, D.sup.5 and D.sup.6 may jointly represent an epoxy group (--O--) which is in the .alpha.-configuration or a single bond, and D.sup.6 and D.sup.7 may jointly represent a single bond; and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 2. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR41## wherein X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 3. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR42## wherein D.sup.8 and D.sup.9 jointly represent an epoxy group (--O--) which is in the .alpha.-configuration or a single bond, and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 4. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR43## wherein A.sup.3 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, A.sup.4 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group or a lower alkanoyloxy group, or A.sup.3 and A.sup.4 jointly represent an oxo group (.dbd.O); and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 5. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR44## wherein A.sup.5 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group or a lower alkanoyloxy group; D.sup.10 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, a lower alkanoyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group or an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, and D.sup.11 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, or D.sup.10 and D.sup.11 jointly represent a single bond; and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 6. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR45## wherein A.sup.6 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted; D.sup.12 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted; and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 7. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR46## wherein X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 8. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR47## wherein A.sup.7 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, and A.sup.8 is such that where A.sup.7 is a hydrogen atom in the .alpha.-configuration, A.sup.8 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted and where A.sup.7 is a hydroxyl group in the .alpha.-configuration, A.sup.8 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydrogen atom, or A.sup.7 and A.sup.8 jointly represent an oxo group (.dbd.O); and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 9. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR48## wherein A.sup.9 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted; D.sup.13 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted; and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 10. The pregnane derivative of claim 1, which has the general formula ##STR49## wherein A.sup.10 is in the .beta.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted; D.sup.14 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group, an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group, a tri-substituted silyloxy group or an alkoxymethoxy group which may optionally be substituted; D.sup.15 is in the .alpha.-configuration and represents a hydroxyl group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxycarbonyloxy group, an N-lower alkylcarbamoyloxy group, an N-arylcarbamoyloxy group or an N,N-di(lower alkyl)carbamoyloxy group; and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 each is a lower alkoxyl group or jointly represent a lower alkylenedioxy group or an oxo group (.dbd.O).
- 11. The pregnane derivative which is 20-(5,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxan-2-yl)-1.alpha.,3.beta.-bis(methoxycarbonyloxy)pregna-5,7-diene.
