Claims
- 1. A process for the preparation of a compound of formula I ##STR31## in which R is H, linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.20 alkenyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.20 alkynyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 cycloalkyl, C.sub.4 -C.sub.20 cycloalkylalkyl, C.sub.4 -C.sub.20 alkylcycloalkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.20 alkylcycloalkylalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.14 aryl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.20 -aralkyl or -alkaryl or C.sub.8 -C.sub.20 -alkaralkyl, each of which is unsubstituted or substituted by --OH, --CN, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 -alkoxy or -alkylthio, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl-oxy or -thio, C.sub.7 -C.sub.16 -aralkyloxy, -alkaryloxy, -aralkylthio or -alkarylthio, C.sub.8 -C.sub.18 alkaralkyloxy or -thio, --NR.sup.3 R.sup.4, --COOR.sup.5, --OCOR.sup.6, --CONR.sup.3 R.sup.4 or by --NR.sup.3 COR.sup.6, in which each of
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, independently of the other, is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, C.sub.5 - or C.sub.6 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.16 aralkyl or C.sub.8 -C.sub.16 alkaralkyl or R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together are tetra- or penta-methylene or 3-oxapentylene,
- R.sup.5 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, phenyl, benzyl, cyclohexyl or cyclopentyl and
- R.sup.6 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 acyl,
- R.sup.1 is H, or linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxy, halogen, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, carboxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 acyloxy or by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyl,
- R.sup.2 is H, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 -alkyl or -alkoxy, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryl or -aryloxy, C.sub.7 -C.sub.16 -aralkyl, -alkaryl, -alkaryloxy or -aralkyloxy, or C.sub.8 -C.sub.16 alkaralkyloxy, which are unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxy, halogen, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, carboxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 acyloxy or by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyl,
- in which an azadiene of formula II ##STR32## in which each of R.sup.7 and R.sup.8, independently of the other, has the same meanings as R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, is reacted with a compound of formula III ##STR33## in which R.degree. has the same meaning as R, with the exception of H, to form a compound of formula IV ##STR34## the compound of formula IV is converted into a compound of formula V ##STR35## by treatment with an acid and/or by thermal treatment with removal of R.sup.7 R.sup.8 NH, the compound of formula V is oxidized to a compound of formula I, and, for the preparation of compounds of formula I in which R is H, the compound of formula V is reacted with a strong acid.
- 2. A process according to claim 1, which is carried out at a temperature of from 50.degree. to 200.degree..
