Claims
- 1. A silahydrocarbon functional fluid comprising in admixture methyltrioctylsilane, decylmethyldioctylsilane, didecylmethyloctylsilane, hexadecylmethyldioctylsilane, trisdecylmethylsilane, decylhexadecylmethyloctylsilane, decylmethyloctadecyloctylsilane, and decyleicosylmethyloctylsilane, said mixture having a viscosity at -54.degree. C. of less than 2500 centistokes, a viscosity at 38.degree. C. of at least 9.5 centistokes, and a viscosity at 100.degree. C. of at least 2.3 centistokes.
- 2. A composition of claim 1 in which the components of said fluid are in the following approximate mole percentages: methyltrioctylsilane, 28%; decylmethyldioctylsilane, 41%; didecylmethyloctylsilane, 21%; hexadecylmethyldioctylsilane, 1.1%; trisdecylmethylsilane, 4.2%; decylhexadecylmethyloctylsilane, 2.4% decylmethyloctadecyloctylsilane, 1.6%; and decyleicosylmethyloctylsilane, 0.4%.
