Claims
- 1. A composition comprising:
- (a) a bismaleimide of the formula: ##STR19## wherein Ar represents an aromatic nucleus; R is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl and R.sub.1 is independently-selected alkyl or halogen groups; R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and n has a value of from 0 to 4; and
- (b) a liquid co-reactant selected from the group consisting of, copolymerizable allylic compounds, copolymerizable vinylic compounds, copolymerizable acrylic compounds, and mixtures thereof.
- 2. The composition of claim 1, further comprising a thermoplastic polymer.
- 3. A composition comprising a bis-maleimide of the formula: ##STR20## wherein Ar represents an aromatic nucleus; R is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl and R.sub.1 is independently selected alkyl or halogen groups; R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and n has a value of from 0 to 4; and an allylic compound.
- 4. The composition of claim 3, further comprising a thermoplastic polymer.
- 5. The composition of claim 3 further comprising a structural fiber.
- 6. The composition of claim 3 further comprising a thermoplastic resin and a structural fiber.
- 7. The composition of claim 3 wherein the allyic compound is o,o'-diallyl bisphenol A.
- 8. The composition of claim 7, further comprising a structural fiber.
- 9. The composition of claim 7, further comprising a carbon fiber structural fiber.
- 10. A composition comprising a bismaleimide selected from the group consisting of:
- 2,2'-bis(4-maleimidophenyl)-meta-diisopropylbenzene, 2,2'-bis-(4-maleimidophenyl)para-diisopropylbenzene, 4,4'-bis-(3-maleimidophenoxy)diphenyl sulfone, and mixtures thereof; and an allylic compound.
- 11. The composition of claim 10, wherein said allylic compound is o,o'-diallyl bisphenol A.
- 12. The composition of claim 10, further comprising a structural fiber.
- 13. The composition of claim 10, further comprising a thermoplastic.
