Claims
- 1. A press-on tool for pressing on a film to adhere to a substrate, comprising:
- 2. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said cushion layer is non-slidably connected to said press-on surface.
- 3. The press-on tool according to claim 2, further comprising a layer of adhesive to connect said cushion layer to said press-on surface.
- 4. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said cushion layer connects with less than the entire press-on surface.
- 5. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said cushion layer comprises a detachable adhesive strip of soft, resilient material.
- 6. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said cushion layer comprises a layer of felt.
- 7. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said cushion layer comprises a woven material.
- 8. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said cushion layer comprises wool.
- 9. A method for applying film to a substrate, comprising the steps of:
- 10. The method according to claim 9, wherein said step of placing the press-on surface in contact with the display side of the film comprises placing the cushion layer in direct contact with the film.
- 11. The press-on tool according to claim 5, wherein said adhesive strip comprises a strip of soft, resilient material provided on one side with adhesive, having a length of about 80-120 mm and a width of about 1-10 mm, the resilient material comprising a felted woven material having a thickness of about 1 mm.
- 12. (Deleted).
- 13. (Deleted).
- 14. The method of claim 9, wherein the cushion layer comprises a strip of soft, resilient material having one side comprising an adhesive layer, having a length of about 80-120 mm and a width of about 1-10 mm, the resilient material comprising a felted woven material having a thickness of about 1 mm.
- 15. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said cushion layer is non-slidably connected with said carrier.
- 16. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein a portion of said press-on surface remains uncovered by said intermediate layer.
- 17. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said intermediate layer connects with the entire press-on surface.
- 18. The press-on tool according to claim 1, wherein said intermediate layer has a coefficient of friction which is less than a coefficient of friction of the press-on surface.
- 19. The method according to claim 9, wherein the cushion layer has a coefficient of friction which is less than a coefficient of friction of the press-on surface.
- 20. The method of claim 9 wherein the press-on tool comprises:
- 21. A cushion for use on a press-on tool for pressing on a film to adhere to the film to a substrate, the press-on tool consisting of a rigid yet flexible carrier having a press-on surface of a first hardness and a first coefficient of friction for pressing the film onto the substrate, the cushion comprising:
- 22. A method of making a press-on tool for pressing on a film to adhere the film to a substrate, the method comprising:
