Claims
- 1. A coil bobbin for driving a wire in a wire type dot printer having a mounting member with openings, comprising a spool portion molded from a thermoplastic material having a first flange, a coil having two ends, a region on said spool portion for winding said coil about said spool portion, and at least two pins extending from said first flange, said pins being integrally formed with said first flange by said thermoplastic material, said pins being inserted in said openings in said mounting member and extending therebeyond, said pins being held to said mounting member by deforming said pins through the melting of said thermoplastic material forming said pins, each of the ends of said coil being wound respectively around one of said two pins, said mounting member having conductor means, the ends of said coil being electrically coupled to said conductor means.
- 2. The coil bobbin of claim 1, wherein said bobbin and said pins are formed of a synthetic resin.
- 3. The coil bobbin of claim 1, wherein said pins extend perpendicularly from said first flange.
- 4. The coil bobbin of claim 1, further comprising a second flange, said region for winding a coil being disposed between said first flange and said second flange.
- 5. A flexible printed wiring cable connector for providing electrical connection to a printer having electrical connection pins extending therefrom to drive printing units in sequence in said printer, said connector comprising:
- a substrate defining a plurality of branches, said substrate being configured so that portions of said branches may be stacked one upon the other to define stackable portions, said stackable portions being positioned one atop the other, said stackable portions having opposed front and rear sides, the back side of a stackable portion facing and being adjacent and contacting the front side of the stackable portion behind it;
- said stackable portions having pin insertion through-holes at positions corresponding to said pins, said pin insertion through-holes being in registration on said stackable portions for receiving pins from said printer; and
- conductors on said substrate for selectively electrically coupling said stackable portions to said printer, said conductors extending to selected ones of said pin insertion through-holes on each stackable portion of said substrate.
- 6. The connector of claim 5, further comprising:
- a connecting section of said substrate, said connecting section being intermediate two of said branches, said connecting section being foldable so that said two branches can be stacked on over the other.
- 7. The connector of claim 5, wherein said pins and said pin insertion through-holes are arranged in a circular pattern.
- 8. The connector of claim 7, wherein said circular pattern comprises an inner circle and an outer circle.
- 9. The connector of claim 8, wherein said pin insertion through-holes for said inner circle comprises holes in a first portion and a second portion of said substrate for first alternate ones of said pins; and
- holes in said first portion and cut-outs in said second portion for second alternate ones of said pins.
- 10. The connector of claim 8, wherein one of said conductors on a first portion of said substrate extends to first alternate through-holes of said inner circle and first alternate through-holes of said outer circle;
- other conductors on said first portion extending to second alternate through-holes of said outer circle; and
- additional conductors extend to through-holes on a second portion of said substrate, said through-holes corresponding to second alternate through holes of the inner circle.
