Claims
- 1. A printed circuit board retaining device, comprising:
a printed circuit board; a bracket supporting said printed circuit board and having a plurality of side walls; a plurality of retaining devices positioned along said side walls, each of said retaining devices comprising a protrusion having a domed shape forming a convex surface extending toward said printed circuit board; and said retaining devices preventing lateral movement of said printed circuit board within said bracket.
- 2. The device of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of switches mounted on said printed circuit board.
- 3. The device of claim 2, further comprising an elongated perforation in a front side wall of said bracket through which said plurality of switches can be activated by pressing corresponding buttons mounted on a front cover of a monitor.
- 4. A monitor having a printed circuit board retaining device, said monitor comprising:
a first bracket having a front and rear cover acting cooperatively to enclose a cathode ray tube; a printed circuit board attached to a second bracket and having a groove along an edge; said second bracket attached to said first bracket, said second bracket comprising:
a plurality of side walls abutting said printed circuit board; a notch formed in at least one of said side walls of said second bracket, said notch being aligned with said groove in said printed circuit board a slot formed in a base of said second bracket, said slot being aligned with said notch; and a pair of guide pins located on said at least one side wall and in substantial alignment with said notch; a locker device, comprising: a body having slanted sides and vertical sides extended from and below said slanted side, said groove of said printed circuit board being in contact with said vertical sides of said body when said circuit board is mounted on said second bracket; a clip spaced apart from said body by a horizontal member attaching said clip to said body, said clip engaging said at least one side wall and said horizontal member engaging said notch in said second bracket; and a tab on one end of said body for engaging said slot in said base of said second bracket; and said locker device being guided by said guide pins being in contact with said vertical sides
when said locker device is attached to said second bracket, and said printed circuit board being guided by said slanted sides and said vertical sides when said printed circuit board is properly positioned in said second bracket.
- 5. The monitor of claim 3, with said locker device further comprising a cavity between said vertical sides and below said slanted sides.
- 6. The monitor of claim 3, said locker device being integrally formed of molded plastic.
- 7. The monitor of claim 3, said locker device being integrally formed of molded rubber.
- 8. The monitor of claim 3, further comprised of a plurality of switches directly mounted on said printed circuit board.
- 9. The monitor of claim 3, further comprising an elongated perforation in a front side wall of said second bracket through which said plurality of switches can be activated by pressing corresponding buttons mounted on said front cover.
