Claims
- 1. A purified DNA of human papillomaviruses, which is a gene selected from the group consisting of E1, E6-E7, L1, and L2,
- wherein said human papillomavirus is selected from the group consisting of HPV-IP5 and HPV-IP6.
- 2. A purified DNA, which hybridizes to the DNA of a human papillomavirus (HPV) selected from the group consisting of HPV-IP5 and HPV-IP6.
- 3. Recombinant human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA comprising the gene according to claim 1.
- 4. A probe for the detection of human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA, said probe comprising the DNA according to claim 1.
- 5. A probe for the detection of human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA, which hybridizes under stringent conditions with the genome of a human papillomavirus selected from the group consisting of HPV-IP5 and HPV-IP6.
- 6. A composition for detecting human papillomavirus comprising the purified DNA of claim 1 or 2.
- 7. A composition for detecting human papillomavirus comprising the probe of claim 4 or 5.
- 8. A kit comprising a plurality of different probes for detecting human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA, wherein said kit contains at least one probe selected from each of the following groups a-k:
- a) DNA of HPV2d;
- b) DNA of HPV10b, 28 and 29;
- c) DNA of HPV17, 24;
- d) DNA of HPV14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and IP4;
- e) DNA of HPV15 and 17;
- f) DNA of HPV24;
- g) DNA of HPV14, 32 and IP4;
- h) DNA of HPV31;
- i) DNA of HPV32;
- j) DNA of HPV16, 18, IP2 and IP5; and
- k) DNA of HPV6, 11 and IP6,
- wherein each of the probes in said kit is of a different HPV type from the other probes in said kit.
- 9. A kit for the in vitro detection of infection by human papillomavirus, said kit comprising DNA probes of human papillomavirus types in a mixture selected from the following groups a-k:
- a) DNA of HPV2d;
- b) DNA of HPV10b, 28 and 29;
- c) DNA of HPV17, 24;
- d) DNA of HPV14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and IP4;
- e) DNA of HPV15 and 17;
- f) DNA of HPV24;
- g) DNA of HPV14, 32 and IP4;
- h) DNA of HPV31;
- i) DNA of HPV32;
- j) DNA of HPV16, 18, IP2 and IP5; and
- k) DNA of HPV6, 11 and IP6.
- 10. A purified recombinant DNA molecule produced by the process comprising cloning a vector in a host cell, wherein said vector comprises human papillomavirus DNA selected from the HPV group consisting of HPV IP5 and HPV IP6.
- 11. A purified recombinant DNA molecule produced by a process comprising cloning a vector in a host cell, wherein said vector comprises human papillomavirus IP5 DNA.
- 12. The DNA molecule of claim 11, wherein said vector comprises a fragment of human papillomavirus IP5 DNA selected from the group consisting of the genes E1, E2, E6-E7, L1, L2, and the non-coding intergenic region of said human papillomavirus IP5 DNA.
- 13. The DNA molecule of claim 11, wherein said vector comprises the gene L1 of human papillomavirus IP5 DNA.
- 14. The DNA molecule of claim 11, wherein said vector comprises the gene L2 of human papillomavirus IP5 DNA.
- 15. The DNA molecule of claim 11, wherein said vector comprises the gene E6-E7 of human papillomavirus IP5 DNA.
- 16. The DNA molecule of claim 11, wherein said vector comprises the intergenic non-coding region of human papillomavirus IP5 DNA.
- 17. The DNA molecule of claim 11, wherein said host cell is an E. coli cell.
- 18. A cloned recombinant DNA molecule produced by a process comprising cloning a vector in a host cell, wherein said vector comprises human papillomavirus IP6 DNA.
- 19. The DNA molecule of claim 18, wherein said vector comprises a fragment of human papillomavirus IP6 DNA selected from the group consisting of the genes E1, E2, E6-E7, L1, L2, and the non-coding intergenic region of said human papillomavirus DNA.
- 20. The DNA molecule of claim 18, wherein said vector comprises the gene L1 of human papillomavirus IP6 DNA.
- 21. The DNA molecule of claim 18, wherein said vector comprises the gene L2 of human papillomavirus IP6 DNA.
- 22. The DNA molecule of claim 18, wherein said vector comprises the gene E6-E7 of human papillomavirus IP6 DNA.
- 23. The DNA molecule of claim 18, wherein said vector comprises the intergenic non-coding region of human papillomavirus IP6 DNA.
- 24. The DNA molecule of claim 18, wherein said host cell is an E. coli cell.
- 25. A kit for the in vitro detection of infection by human papillomavirus, said kit comprises eleven DNA probes of human papillomavirus types in a mixture, wherein said DNA probes are from the human papillomaviruses selected from the following groups a-k:
- a) HPV1, 2d and 4;
- b) HPV3, 10a, 10b, 28, and 29;
- c) HPV5, 17a, and 24;
- d) HPV5, 8, 12, 14a, 14b, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and IP4;
- e) HPV9, 15, 17a, and 17b;
- f) HPV24;
- g) HPV5, 8, 14b, 32, and IP4;
- h) HPV13 and 31;
- i) HPV32 and 1P4;
- j) HPV16, 18, IP2, and IP5; and
- k) HPV6, 11, and IP6.
