Claims
- 1. Process for paving a sloped surface with a castable material in a strip comprising,
- depositing the castable material onto the sloped surface,
- spreading the castable material outwardly a preselected lateral distance from the sloped surface,
- forming a first strip having a preselected thickness and an upper surface extending longitudinally on the sloped surface,
- rounding the lateral edge of the first strip in an arcuate configuration to form a lateral edge extending a preselected lateral dimension outwardly from the sloped surface and downwardly from the upper surface of the strip,
- compacting the first strip to a preselected degree of compaction,
- shaping the lateral edge of the first strip in an arcuate configuration while simultaneously compacting the strip,
- depositing the castable material on the first strip,
- spreading the castable material on the previously formed strip outwardly a preselected lateral distance from the sloped surface to form a second strip,
- forming a lateral edge of the second strip spaced a preselected lateral distance inwardly of the lateral edge of the first strip and parallel thereto,
- shaping the lateral edge of the second strip in an arcuate configuration, and
- compacting the second strip to a preselected degree of compaction while simultaneously shaping the lateral edge of the second strip to thereby form a step-like configuration of a preselected slope on the sloped surface.
- 2. Process for paving a sloped surface with a castable material in a strip comprising,
- depositing the castable material onto the sloped surface,
- spreading the castable material outwardly a preselected lateral distance from the sloped surface,
- forming a first strip having a preselected thickness and an upper surface extending longitudinally on the sloped surface,
- rounding the lateral edge of the first strip in an arcuate configuration to form a lateral edge extending a preselected lateral dimension outwardly from the sloped surface and downwardly from the upper surface of the strip,
- compacting the first strip to a preselected degree of compaction,
- shaping the lateral edge of the first strip in an arcuate configuration while simultaneously compacting the strip,
- depositing the castable material on the first strip,
- spreading the castable material outwardly on the first strip a preselected lateral distance from the sloped surface,
- forming a second strip having a thickness corresponding to the thickness of the first strip on the first strip,
- extending the second strip longitudinally on the sloped surface in overlapping relation with the first strip so the lateral edge of the second strip is positioned between the sloped surface and the lateral edge of the first strip and spaced laterally therefrom to form a step-like arrangement on the sloped surface,
- rounding the lateral edge of the second strip in an arcuate configuration from the upper surface of the second strip downwardly to the upper surface of the first strip to thereby form a rounded lateral edge on the second strip spaced a preselected lateral distance from the rounded lateral edge of the first strip,
- compacting the upper surface of the second strip to a preselected degree of compaction while simultaneously compacting the rounded lateral edge of the second strip, and
- forming a step-like configuration of a preselected slope by the first and second strips on the sloped surface.
- 3. Process for paving a sloped surface with a castable material in a strip as set forth in claim 1 in which said step of compacting includes,
- propelling a first roller over each of the first and second strips by propelling means pushing said first roller,
- propelling a second roller over each of the first and second strips by said propelling means pulling said second roller beyond said first roller, and
- vibrating said first and second rollers while advancing said rollers over each of the first and second strips.
- 4. Process for paving a sloped surface with a castable material in a strip as set forth in claim 3 which includes,
- pushing said first roller on each of the first and second strips by a first prime mover connected to said first roller,
- pulling said second roller on each of the first and second strips by a second prime mover connected to said second roller, and
- positioning said first and second prime movers between said first and second roller.
- 5. Process for paving a sloped surface with a castable material in a strip as set forth in claim 1 which includes,
- applying a vibrating force to each of the first and second strips simultaneously with compacting each of the first and second strips respectively to further compact the strips and the arcuate lateral edges thereof with a preselected degree of compaction.
- 6. Process for paving a sloped surface with a castable material in a strip as set forth in claim 1 which includes,
- conveying continuously at a preselected rate castable material to form the first strip extending outwardly on the sloped surface,
- thereafter conveying continuously at a preselected rate castable material on he first strip to form the second strip overlying the first strip with the lateral edge of the second strip positioned inwardly of the lateral edge of the first strip and the upper surface of the second strip having a slope corresponding to the slope of the upper surface of the first strip, and
- depositing the castable material on the sloped surface in front of a spreading means having a preselected edge configuration to form the arcuate configuration of the lateral edge of the first and second strip.
