Claims
- 1. A process for changing bearing support surfaces in a textile machine which produces X-packages and includes:a traversing yarn guiding rod which in use carries a plurality of yarn guides operable to guide respective yarns to respective X-packages with axial traversing movements of the yarn guiding rod, and a plurality of bearings disposed at respective bearing points and operably supporting the yarn guiding rod to be slidable axially thereover during the traversing movements of the yarn guiding rod, said bearings being spaced axially of the yarn guiding rod from one another by a distance corresponding to at least an in use axial traversing stroke of the yarn guiding rod, said bearings including: respective first bearings which are open on a first side such that they can be positioned to slidably engage said yarn guiding rod at a first lateral side of the yarn guiding rod, and respective second bearings which are laterally open on a second side such that they can be positioned to engage said yarn guiding rod at a second lateral side of the yarn guiding rod facing oppositely of said first lateral side, said process comprising: rotating the yarn guiding rod around its longitudinal axis to a new position so that worn surfaces of the yarn guiding rod face away from bearing surfaces of the bearings and unworn surfaces of the yarn guide rod face the bearing surfaces of the bearings.
- 2. A process according to claim 1, further comprising replacing the bearings with new bearings disposed at the same bearing points as the old bearings and facing in the same direction.
- 3. A textile machine comprising:a traversing yarn guiding rod which in use carries a plurality of yarn guides operable to guide respective yarns to respective X-packages with axial traversing movements of the yarn guiding rod, and a plurality of bearings disposed at respective bearing points and operably supporting the yarn guiding rod to be slidable axially thereover during the traversing movements of the yarn guiding rod, said bearings being spaced axially of the yarn guiding rod from one another by a distance corresponding to at least an in use axial traversing stroke of the yarn guiding rod, and said bearings including: respective first bearings which are open at a first side such that they can be positioned to slidably engage said yarn guiding rod at a first lateral side of the yarn guiding rod, and respective second bearings which are open on a second side such that they can be positioned to engage said yarn guiding rod at a second lateral side of the yarn guiding rod facing oppositely of said first lateral side.
- 4. A textile machine according to claim 3, wherein the yarn guiding rod and the first and second bearings are configured to accommodate selective disposition of the yarn guiding rod to extend in different opposite axial directions with respect to a drive connection with the yarn guiding rod.
- 5. A textile machine according to claim 3, wherein fastening means for the bearings are so constructed that the first and second bearings can be selectively positioned at same position with respect to the yarn guiding rod.
- 6. A traversing guide rod assembly for a textile machine producing x-packages, comprising:a traversing yarn guiding rod, and bearings supporting the guiding rod at a spacing between bearings which is at least twice as great as an in use traversing stroke of the guiding rod, wherein bearing points are provided for accommodating replacement bearings to be assembled during collective exchange and replacement of the bearings staggered with respect to previous bearing points in such a way that the new bearing points are at a distance to the now exposed previous bearing points, which distance corresponds to at least one traverse stroke.
- 7. An assembly according to claim 6, wherein the bearings take the form of sliding bearings open on one side.
- 8. An assembly according to claim 7, wherein the yarn guiding rod is made of carbon fiber.
- 9. An assembly according to claim 6, wherein the yarn guiding rod is made of carbon fiber.
- 10. The assembly according to claim 6, wherein the traversing yarn guiding rod is operable to support a plurality of yarn guides, said yarn guides in use guiding yarn to respective X-packages being formed.
- 11. The assembly according to claim 10, wherein the bearings including a plurality of slide bearings disposed along the length of and supporting the traversing yarn guiding rod for axial traversing movements.
- 12. The textile machine according to claim 11, wherein the bearings take the form of sliding bearings open on one side.
- 13. The textile machine according to claim 12, wherein said textile machine is an open-end spinning machine.
- 14. The textile machine according to claim 13, wherein the yarn guiding rod is made of carbon fibers.
- 15. The textile machine according to claim 12, wherein the yarn guiding rod is made of carbon fibers.
- 16. The textile machine according to claim 11, wherein said textile machine is an open-end spinning machine.
- 17. The textile machine according to claim 16, wherein the yarn guiding rod is made of carbon fibers.
- 18. A textile machine comprising:a traversing yarn guiding rod which in use carries a plurality of yarn guides operable to guide respective yarns to respective X-packages with axial traversing movements of the yarn guiding rod, and a plurality of bearings disposed at respective bearing points and operably supporting the yarn guiding rod to be slidable axially thereover during the traversing movements of the yarn guiding rod, said bearings being spaced axially of the yarn guiding rod from one another by a distance corresponding to at least twice an in use axial traversing stroke of the yarn guiding rod, and replacement bearing points for accommodating replacement bearings to be assembled during collective exchange and replacement of the bearings with the replacement bearings staggered with respect to the previous bearing points in such a way that the respective replacement bearing points are at an axial distance from the now exposed respective previous bearing points, which axial distance corresponds to at least one traversing stroke of said yarn guiding rod.
