Claims
- 1. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at low elongation within the range of 0 to 1% at 20.degree. C. comprising the steps of:
- (a) providing at least one textile sheet material;
- (b) providing monofilaments having a diameter of at least 0.1 mm. and a Young's Modulus of at least 5 Gpa in an oriented state while under longitudinal tension; and
- (c) consolidating said textile sheet material and said monofilaments while maintaining said longitudinal tension on said monofilaments,
- wherein the tension applied to said monofilaments in steps (b) and (c) is sufficient to facilitate the formation of a base inliner wherein said monofilaments in the resulting base inliner start to absorb a force and transfer it at an elongation within the range of 0 to 1 % so that an applied load to generate an elongation within the range between 0 and 1% at 20.degree. C. differs by at least 10% at at least one value of elongation within the range of 0 to 1% when compared to a base inliner formed of said textile sheet material without said monofilaments.
- 2. The process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein said monofilaments provided in step (b) are placed intermediate two textile sheet materials provided at step (a) prior to step (c).
- 3. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein said consolidation of step (c) comprises needling.
- 4. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 3 wherein the total kick-up and barb depth of the needles utilized to achieve needling is less than the diameter of said monofilaments provided at step (b).
- 5. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein said consolidation of step (c) comprises thermal bonding with the application of heat and pressure.
- 6. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein said consolidation of step (c) comprises impregnation and bonding with a chemical binder.
- 7. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein said textile sheet material provided at step (a) is a spunbonded web.
- 8. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 7, wherein the fibers of said spunbonded web comprise a polyester.
- 9. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein said monofilaments provided at step (b) have a diameter of 0.1 to 0.5 mm.
- 10. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein said monofilaments provided at step (b) have a diameter of 0.1 to 0.3 mm.
- 11. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein the tension applied to said monofilaments in steps (b) and (c) is sufficient to facilitate the formation of a base inliner wherein said monofilaments in the resulting base inliner start to absorb a force and transfer it at an elongation within the range of 0 to 1% so that an applied load to generate an elongation within the range between 0 and 1% at 20.degree. C. differs by at least 20% at at least one value of elongation within the range of 0 to 1% when compared to a base inliner formed of said textile sheet material without said monofilaments.
- 12. A process for producing a base inliner having improved loadbearing reinforcement at said low elongation according to claim 1, wherein the tension applied to said monofilaments in steps (b) and (c) is sufficient to facilitate the formation of a base inliner wherein said monofilaments in the resulting base inliner start to absorb a force and transfer it at an elongation within the range of 0 to 1% so that an applied load to generate an elongation within the range between 0 and 1% at 20.degree. C. differs by at least 30% at at least one value of elongation within the range of 0 to 1% when compared to a base inliner formed of said textile sheet material without said monofilaments.
