Claims
- 1. In a process for making a polyhexamethylene adipamide fiber having less than 6% nylon 6 by forming a nylon 66 molten polymer, and spinning the polymer through a spinning pack containing a pack filter to produce a fiber, the improvement comprising reducing spherulites to a spherulite rating of 1 in the fiber, without forming cells in said fiber, by injecting a fluorocarbon blowing agent into the molten polymer in advance of the filter pack while maintaining a low shear throughout the process, the fluorocarbon blowing agent being selected from the group consisting of dichlorotetrafluoroethane, monochloropentafluoroethane and dichlorodifluoromethane.
