Claims
- 1. A process for producing a magnetized ring comprising the steps of:
- cutting spaces in an annular ring whereby the annular ring is divided into a plurality of segments; and
- magnetizing the annular ring with a magnetic flux produced by a magnetic field coaxial to the central axis of the annular ring whereby the spaces provide areas of increased magnetic field intensity.
- 2. The process as in claim 1, wherein the annular ring is mounted in a support ring prior to said cutting and said spaces are completely through the annular ring separating the annular ring segments.
- 3. The process as in claim 1, wherein the spaces are positioned around the annular ring dividing the annular ring into equal length segments.
- 4. The process as in claim 1, wherein the magnetic flux produces multiple magnetic pole pairs, each magnetic pole pair coinciding with one of the annular ring segments, each pole of a magnetic pole pair is adjacent one of said spaces and each pole is of the opposite polarity of any adjacent poles.
