Claims
- 1. A process of preparing an elastomeric copolymer of about 15 to 45 mol % of trioxane and about 55 to 85 mol % of 1,3-dioxolane based on the total of trioxane and 1,3-dioxolane, and about 0.005 to 0.15 wt. % of 1,5-butanediol digylcidyl ether or butadiene diepoxide as a bifunctional monomer, based on the total weight of copolymer, comprising mixing said monomers in substantially dry state and under an inert atmosphere with a cationic polymerization catalyst.
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst is p-nitrobenzenediazonium tetrafluoroborate (PNDB).
- 3. The process of claim 2 wherein said PNDB is added as a solution in nitromethane.
- 4. The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst is present in an amount of about 1.times.10.sup.-4 M/l to 5.times.10.sup.-3 M/l based on the total volume of reaction medium.
- 5. The process of claim 1 wherein said catalyst is present in an amount of about 1.times.10.sup.-3 M/l to 1.5.times.10.sup.-3 M/l, based on the total volume of reaction medium.
