Claims
- 1. A process for producing N-chloroacetylglutamine represented by formula (I): ##STR3## consisting the steps of: (a) reacting chloroacetyl chloride represented by formula (II): ##STR4## with an alkaline aqueous solution of glutamine in the presence of a water immiscible organic solvent;
- (b) separating an aqueous layer by liquid-liquid separation; and
- (c) after seeding the aqueous layer crystallizing N-chloroacetylglutamine from said aqueous layer under acidic conditions.
