Claims
- 1. A process for producing rebeccamycin having the formula ##STR4## which comprises cultivating Nocardia aerocolonigenes ATCC 39243 or a rebeccamycin-producing mutant thereof in an aqueous nutrient medium containing assimilable sources of carbon and nitrogen under submerged aerobic conditions until a substantial amount of rebeccamycin is produced by said organism in said culture medium.
- 2. The process according to claim 1 wherein the rebeccamycin is recovered from the culture medium.
