Claims
- 1. A process for producing L-lysine by fermentation comprising the steps of:
- (i) inoculating a microorganism capable of producing L-lysine in liquid medium and culturing the microorganism through a logarithmic growth phase,
- (ii) culturing said microorganism after the logarithmic phase to produce L-lysine in a medium containing a total carbon source concentration maintained at not greater than 5 g/l,
- (iii) and collecting the L-lysine produced and accumulated in the medium.
- 2. The process of claim 1, which is a batch process with continuous addition of culture medium containing said carbon source.
- 3. The process of claim 1, which is a cell-recycling continuous culture process.
