Claims
- 1. A process for separating components of an azeotropic or azeotrop-like mixture comprising hexafluoropropylene and monochlorodifluoromethane in which said azeotropic or azeotrope-like mixture is contacted with a semipermeable membrane to form at least one exit stream having an increased concentration of hexafluoropropylene and at least one other exit stream having an increased concentration of monochlorodifluoromethane and, thereafter, recovering at least one exit stream.
- 2. A process for separating components of an azeotropic or azeotrope-like mixture comprising dichlorodifluoromethane and monochlorodifluoromethane in which said azeotropic or azeotrope-like mixture is contacted with a semipermeable membrane to form at least one exit stream having an increased concentration of dichlorodifluoromethane and at least one other exit stream having an increased concentration of monochlorodifluoromethane and, thereafter, recovering at least one exit stream.
- 3. The process of claim 1 or 2 wherein the semipermeable membrane is made of a material selected from the group consisting of natural rubbers, ceramics, polyisoprenes, polybutenes, polybutedienes, polyimides, polyamids, aromatic-aliphatic polyamides, polyaramids, neoprenes and silicone elatomers.
- 4. The process of claim 1 or 2 wherein the contacting step is operated at a temperature of 1 to 150 degress Centigrade.
- 5. The process of claim 1 or 2 wherein the contacting step is operated with a pressure differential between the feed side and the permeate side of the semipermeable membrane of 0.1 to 10 atmospheres.
- 6. The process of claim 1 or 2 wherein the semipermeable membrane is in a shape selected from the group consisting of films, tubes, spirals, and hollow fibers.
