Claims
- 1. An apparatus for carrying out chemical reaction and/or processing of substances using solvent and diluent which is used for specific dilution of the solvent, comprising:
- a processing plant,
- a treatment apparatus in the processing plant, comprising
- a fresh solvent feed line for introducing fresh solvent into the treatment apparatus,
- a fresh diluent feed line for introducing fresh diluent into the treatment apparatus,
- a reactant feed line for introducing into the treatment apparatus substances to be reacted and/or to be processed,
- a discharge line for ejecting products from the treatment apparatus and said processing plant,
- a solvent recovery apparatus in the processing plant, comprising
- a used mixture feed line connected to the treatment apparatus for feeding a used mixture of solvent, diluent, and residues from the reaction and/or processing of the substances to the solvent recovery apparatus,
- a recovered solvent return line for returning a solvent fraction primarily composed of solvent and which may contain an small proportion of diluent, from the solvent recovery apparatus to the treatment apparatus so that this fraction is again available for the reaction and/or processing of the substances,
- a recovered diluent return line for returning a diluent fraction, which comprises diluent and which may contain a small proportion of solvent, from the solvent recovery apparatus to the treatment apparatus, so that this fraction is again available for the reaction and/or processing of the substances, and
- and outlet line for removing waste substances from the solvent recovery apparatus, and wherein the solvent recovery apparatus is a rectification column where the separation of the used mixture into the solvent fraction and into the diluent fraction is carried out.
- 2. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the used mixture feed line is mounted at the height of the column body of the rectification column at which the concentration of solvent and diluent in the used mixture is approximately equal to the concentration of the respective fractions, and wherein
- in the rectification column a separation is carried out into a diluent as higher boiling fraction and solvent as a lower boiling fraction, the rectification column being provided with a higher boiling point fraction take-off line to take the higher boiling fraction off, and a lower boiling point fraction take-off line which takes the lower boiling fraction off over the head, and a discharge line from which the waste materials concentrated in the bottom are removed,
- a heat exchanger which is operated as cooler to cool the higher boiling point fraction or solvent, said heat exchanger is connected to said recovered solvent return line to return the solvent to the treatment apparatus,
- condensers connected in series via a condenser connecting line, for condensing the lower boiling fraction removed from the rectification column,
- at least one lower boiling point storage feed line connected to a storage tank wherein the condensed lower boiling fraction is fed,
- a storage tank emptying line which divides into a return line for some of the condensate to the rectification column and into a discharge line which branches into an outlet line and to said diluent return line for returning the reprocessed fraction or diluent to the treatment apparatus.
- 3. The apparatus as claimed in claim 2, further comprising said
- lower boiling point fraction line provided with a branch into a lower boiling point fraction outlet line and lower boiling point fraction return line which serves for returning the condensed lower boiling point fraction into the diluent return line of the treatment apparatus,
- and exhaust air scrubber connected to the lower boiling point fraction outlet through which the lower boiling point fraction and exhaust air from the treatment apparatus, which still contains solvent residues and diluent residues are passed,
- an exhaust air line from the treatment apparatus is connected in counter-current to the lower boiling fraction, and
- a diluent liquid phase return line section for returning a bottom diluent liquid phase forming in the lower part of the exhaust air scrubber to the treatment apparatus via the diluent return line.
- 4. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein the used mixture feed line is mounted at the height of the column body of the rectification column at which the concentration of solvent and diluent in the used mixture is approximately equal to the concentration of the respective fractions within the rectification column, and wherein
- separation is carried out into a solvent as higher boiling fraction and diluent as lower boiling fraction,
- the rectification column further comprises a higher boiling point fraction take-off line to take the higher boiling point fraction off, and
- a lower boiling point fraction line which takes the lower boiling point fraction off from the head,
- condensers for condensing the lower boiling point fraction removed from the rectification column, the condensers being cooled by coolant which has passed through other condensers,
- a discharge line from which waste materials concentrate in the bottom of said rectification column are removed,
- a heat exchanger which is operated as a cooler to cool the higher boiling point fraction, connected to said solvent return line to return said higher boiling point fraction or solvent to the treatment apparatus,
- said condensers connected in series via a line,
- a storage tank, and at least one line connecting the storage tank to the condensers for receiving the condensed lower boiling point fraction, and a line from the storage tank which divides into a return line for returning some of the condensate to the rectification column and into a discharge line which branches into an outlet line and into said diluent return line for returning the reprocessed fraction to the treatment apparatus.
- 5. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, further comprising
- a second lower boiling point fraction side take-off line under the rectification column head, and
- a lower boiling point fraction discharge line which branches into a low boiling point fraction or diluent return line, and to the treatment apparatus.
- 6. The apparatus as claimed in claim 5, further comprising said lower boiling point fraction return lines for returning the lower boiling fraction connected to an exhaust air scrubber,
- an exhaust air line from the treatment apparatus connected to said exhaust air scrubber counter-current to said lower boiling point for passing exhaust air, which still contains solvent residues and diluent residues, and
- a diluent liquid phase return line, the bottom diluent liquid phase forming in the lower part of the exhaust air scrubber is returned to the treatment apparatus via the diluent return line.
- 7. The apparatus as claimed in claim 4, further comprising
- said lower boiling point return fraction line for returning the lower boiling fraction connected to and exhaust air scrubber,
- wherein exhaust air from the treatment apparatus, which is still contains solvent residues and diluent residues is passed to said exhaust air scrubber through an exhaust air line, which is connected in counter-current to the lower boiling point fraction return fraction line, and
- a diluent liquid phase return line, wherein the bottom diluent liquid phase forming in the lower part of the exhaust air scrubber is returned to the treatment apparatus via the diluent return line.
