Claims
- 1. A process for the enzymatic resolution of PTC derivatives, which comprises treating a mixture of D- and L-PTC derivatives of the general formula (I) ##STR5## in which R.sup.1 is unbranched or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl or is cyclohexyl,
- R.sup.2 is unbranched or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxy, or amino, and
- R.sup.3 is (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)carbonyl, or (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)carbonyl which is substituted by phenyl or by phenyl which is monosubstituted or trisubstituted and whose 1 to 3 substituents are selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy and halogen, or R.sup.3 is benzoyl, or is unbranched or branched (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy)carbonyl, or is benzyloxycarbonyl which additionally can be substituted in the phenyl ring by up to three radicals selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy and halogen, with a hydrolytically active protease enzyme in an aqueous or aqueous-organic medium.
- 2. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein
- R.sup.1 is methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, pentyl, hexyl or cyclohexyl,
- R.sup.2 is methoxy, ethoxy, propoxy, butoxy, pentoxy, hexoxy or NH.sub.2, and
- R.sup.3 is acetyl or phenacetyl, or is tert-butyloxycarbonyl or benzyloxycarbonyl.
- 3. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the enzymatic cleavage is carried out at a temperature of 20.degree. to 60.degree. C.
- 4. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein enzymatically unreacted D-PTC derivative is removed after enzymatic cleavage by extraction with an organic solvent.
- 5. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein L-PTC derivative obtained is subjected to chemical hydrolysis and L-PTC is isolated.
- 6. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the enzymatic cleavage is carried out at pH 5 to 9.
