Claims
- 1. A process for the preparation of a 3-chloro-5-hydroxy-pyrazole having the formula: ##STR20## wherein R is H; alkyl with from 1 to 7 carbon atoms optionally substituted by one CN group; phenyl; or benzyl; characterized in that a hydrazine of the formula:
- R--NH--NH--CO--R'
- wherein R has the meanings indicated above and R' is NH.sub.2 or O-alkyl, is reached with .beta.,.beta.-dichloro-acryloyl chloride and the reaction product thus obtained is subjected to the action of an aqueous alkali thereby obtaining a compound of formula (I) in the form of an alkaline salt, which in turn is treated with an acid solution.
