- 4. The process of claim 2, wherein the removal of at least a portion of either the diisocyantes or the monoisocyanatomonocarbamates, or both, is effected by distillation.
- 5. The process of claim 1, wherein the alcohol is phenol or a fluorophenol.
- 6. The process of claim 2, wherein the alcohol is phenol or a fluorophenol.
- 7. The process of claim 1, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the presence of a solvent.
- 8. The process of claim 2, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the presence of a solvent.
- 9. The process of claim 3, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the presence of a solvent.
- 10. The process of claim 4, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the presence of a solvent.
- 11. The process of claim 8, wherein the decomposing is carried out at a temperature between 100 and 250° C.
- 12. The process of claim 9, wherein the decomposing is carried out at a temperature between 100 and 250° C.
- 13. The process of claim 10, wherein the decomposing is carried out at a temperature between 100 and 250° C.
- 14. The process of claim 7, wherein the solvent is mixed with a lower boiling solvent used to generate a carrier gas.
- 15. The process of claim 8, wherein the solvent is mixed with a lower boiling solvent used to generate a carrier gas.
- 16. The process of claim 9, wherein the solvent is mixed with a lower boiling solvent used to generate a carrier gas.
- 17. The process of claim 10, wherein the solvent is mixed with a lower boiling solvent used to generate a carrier gas.
- 18. The process of claim 1, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the absence of a solvent.
- 19. The process of claim 2, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the absence of a solvent.
- 20. The process of claim 3, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the absence of a solvent.
- 21. The process of claim 4, wherein the decomposing is carried out in the absence of a solvent.
- 22. The process of claim 18, wherein the decomposing is carried out at a temperature between the melting point of the corresponding organic polycarbamates and 350° C.

- 26. The process of claim 23, wherein the decomposing is carried out under reduced pressure.
- 27. A process for the preparation of organic polyisocyanates comprising the step of decomposing corresponding organic polycarbamates into organic polyisocyanates and alcohols at a temperature between 100 and 250° C. in the presence of a solvent, wherein the alcohol and at least a portion of either diisocyantes or monoisocyanatomonocarbamates, or both, formed upon the decomposing of the corresponding organic polycarbamates is removed during the decomposing.
- 28. The process of claim 27, wherein the organic polyisocyanates comprises polymethylene polyphenylene polyisocyanate.
- 29. The process of claim 27, wherein the removal of at least a portion of either the diisocyantes or the monoisocyanatomonocarbamates, or both, is effected by distillation.
