Claims
- 1. A process for the production of metal melts, comprising the steps of:producing a pre-melt in an electric arc furnace vessel with the formation of offgates and bringing the pre-melt to a predetermined temperature level and a predetermined chemical composition, continuously flowing the pre-melt into an oxygen-blowing converter vessel via an overflow weir, said converter vessel serving for storing and balancing, continuously refining the pre-melt in the oxygen-blowing converter vessel with the formation of offgases, and carrying off the refined melt from the oxygen-blowing converter vessel, and forming slag in the oxygen-blowing converter vessel and flowing the slag back into the electric arc furnace vessel, from which the slag is withdrawn.
- 2. A process according to claim 1, wherein the metal melt has a chemical composition and a temperature which are adjusted in the oxygen-blowing vessel in a continuous manner which corresponds to the chemical composition and temperature of the final melt or of the end product desired for tapping.
- 3. A process according to claim 1, wherein offgases formed in the oxygen-blowing converter vessel are withdrawn via the electric arc furnace vessel, with CO+H2-afterburning being carried out both in the oxygen-blowing converter vessel and in the electric arc furnace vessel.
- 4. A process according to claim 1, wherein lumpy charge material is charged into the electric arc furnace vessel offgases flow over into the electric arc furnace vessel from the oxygen-blowing converter vessel are employed for preheating said lumpy charge material and these offgases together with offgases arising in the electric arc furnace vessel.
- 5. A process according to claim 4, wherein the offgases employed for preheating are afterburned during the preheating process.
- 6. A process according to claim 1, wherein a negative pressure is maintained in the electric arc furnace vessel and in the oxygen-blower converter vessel.
- 7. A process for the production of pig iron melts from a metallic charge mix, comprising the steps of:charging a pig iron in liquid form to an electric arc furnace vessel and bringing the pig iron to a predetermined temperature level, lowering Si- and P-contents in the electric arc furnace vessel, flowing the liquid pig iron continuously into an oxygen-blowing converter vessel via an overflow weir, partially refining the liquid pig iron in a continuous manner in the oxygen-blowing converter vessel, drawing off the partially refined pig iron from the oxygen-blowing converter vessel, and flowing slag formed in the oxygen-blowing converter vessel in a counterflow direction to the metal into the electric arc furnace vessel, from which it is withdrawn.
- 8. A process according to claim 7, wherein the metallic charge mix is formed from at least one of the following components:(a) scrap selected from the group consisting of steel scrap, solid pig iron, cast iron, and mixtures thereof, (b) direct reduced iron in the form of pellets and/or briquettes and/or iron carbide, and (c) liquid pig iron.
- 9. A process according to claim 7, wherein, after predetermined process times, a liquefying or reduction treatment, respectively, of the slag is carried out in the oxygen-blowing converter vessel.
