Claims
- 1. A process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma of a soap comprising the step of intimately admixing with soap chips either (i) a norbornane derivative having a structure selected from the group consisting of: ##STR274## and mixtures of some or (ii) a mixture of 2-(2-butenoyl)-3,3-dimethylnorbornane; 2-(2-butenoyl)-3,3-dimethylnorbornane; 2-(2-butenoyl)-3,3-dimethylnorbornane and .alpha.-allyl-3,3-dimethyl-2-norbornanemethanol until a substantially homogenous composition is obtained, said norbornane derivative or said mixture being present in said composition in an amount of from 1% up to 3% by weight.
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein the norbornane derivative has the structure: ##STR275##
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein the norbornane derivative has the structure: ##STR276##
- 4. The process of claim 1 wherein the norbornane derivative has the structure: ##STR277##
- 5. The process of claim 1 wherein the norbornane derivative has the structure: ##STR278##
- 6. The process of claim 1 wherein the norbornane derivative is a mixture of 2-(2-butenoyl)-3,3-dimethylnorbornane; 2-(3-butenoyl)-3,3-dimethylnorbornane; 2-(2-butenoyl)-3,3-dimethylnorbornane and .alpha.-allyl-3,3-dimethyl-2-norbornanemethanol.
