Claims
- 1. A process in an electrochemical cell involving catalytically reducing oxygen, the step of catalytically reducing oxygen using a catalyst comprising a platinum-chromium alloy, said alloy having a catalytic activity for the reduction of oxygen at least twice that of the platinum in unalloyed form wherein the surface area of the platinum in the alloy is at least 30 m.sup.2 /g.
- 2. The process according to claim 1 wherein the alloy is supported.
- 3. The process according to claim 2 wherein the alloy is supported on carbon.
