Claims
- 1. A process of making a crystalline builder for use in a cleaning composition comprising the steps of:
- (a) blending Na.sub.2 CO.sub.3 with Ca(CO.sub.3) at a molar ratio of at least about 2:1 to form a blended mixture;
- (b) heating said blended mixture until said builder is formed, wherein said builder is crystalline and has the formula Na.sub.2 Ca(CO.sub.3).sub.2 and said heating step is performed at a temperature of at least 350.degree. C. for at least 0.5 hours in a CO.sub.2 atmosphere;
- (c) grinding or crushing said builder such that the particle size of said builder is from about 0.1 microns to about 50 microns.
