Claims
- 1. A composition comprising a substrate within an avian house and a bird repellent, wherein the substrate is disposed within an avian house.
- 2. The composition of claim 1, wherein the substrate comprises litter.
- 3. The composition of claim 2, wherein the bird repellent is coated on the surface of the litter.
- 4. The composition of claim 1, wherein the bird repellent comprises a polycyclic quinone compound.
- 5. The composition of claim 4, wherein the polycyclic quinone compound further comprises an anthraquinone compound.
- 6. A method of improving avian health wherein the method comprises applying an effective amount of a bird repellent to a substrate, wherein the substrate is disposed within an avian house.
- 7. The method of claim 6, wherein the substrate comprises litter.
- 8. The method of claim 6, wherein the bird repellent comprises a polycyclic quinone compound.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the polycyclic quinone compound comprises an anthraquinone compound.
- 10. The method of claim 8, wherein the effective amount of the polycyclic quinone compound ranges from 0.001 gallons/thousands square feet to 10 gallons/thousand square feet.
- 11. A method for improving weight adjusted feed efficiency in avians wherein the method comprises applying an effective amount of bird repellent to a substrate, wherein the substrate is disposed within an avian house.
- 12. The method of claim 11, wherein the substrate comprises litter.
- 13. The method of claim 11, wherein the bird repellent comprises a polycyclic quinone compound.
- 14. The method of claim 13, wherein the polycyclic quinone compound comprises an anthraquinone compound.
- 15. The method of claim 13, wherein the effective amount of the polycyclic quinone compound ranges from 0.001 gallons/thousand square feet to 10 gallons/thousand square feet.
- 16. A method for reducing and preventing the ingestion of a substrate by avians, wherein the substrate is disposed within an avian house.
- 17. The method of claim 16, wherein the substrate comprises litter.
- 18. The method of claim 16, wherein the bird repellent comprises a polycyclic quinone compound.
- 19. The method of claim 18, wherein the polycyclic quinone compound comprises an anthraquinone compound.
- 20. The method of claim 18, wherein the effective amount of the polycyclic quinone compound ranges from 0.001 gallons/thousand square feet to 10 gallons/thousand square feet.
