Claims
- 1. A method for analyzing information, said method being suitable for use in connection with a manufacturing production line constructing a composite product from a sequential addition of component parts during a production run, said method comprising:
inspecting a first product attribute of a product being manufactured during the production run, said first product attribute being associated with the first component part; determining a first product attribute parameter being indicative of the first inspected product attribute; providing a product attribute database for storing the first product attribute parameter; populating the product attribute database with a plurality of first product attribute parameters associated with a sample set of products being manufactured during the production run; providing a manufacturing information database for storing one or more manufacturing parameters, said manufacturing parameters being associated with the manufacturing production line; populating the manufacturing information database with a plurality of manufacturing parameters; applying a logic filter for correlating said populated plurality of first product attribute parameters with said populated plurality of manufacturing parameters; and identifying a logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and manufacturing parameters.
- 2. A method as set forth in claim 1 further comprising displaying an indication of the identified logical relationship to an operator associated with the manufacturing production line.
- 3. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein populating the product attribute database further comprises identifying unreliable first product attribute parameters whereby unreliable first product attribute parameters are not populated in the product attribute database.
- 4. A method as set forth in claim 1 further comprising:
identifying whether the first product attribute parameter is associated with a culled composite product; and wherein populating the product attribute database comprises:
identifying a first population set within the plurality of first product attribute parameters stored in the product attribute database associated with non-culled composite products; and identifying a second population set with the plurality of first product attribute parameters stored in the product attribute database associated with culled composite products.
- 5. A method as set forth in claim 1 further comprising:
identifying whether the first product attribute parameter is associated with a non-culled composite product; and wherein populating the product attribute database comprises populating the product attribute database with first product attribute parameters associated with non-culled composite products and disregarding first product attribute parameters associated with culled composite products.
- 6. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the manufacturing parameter comprises a raw material data parameter for identifying a characteristic of a raw material used for providing the first component part and wherein identifying the logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and manufacturing parameters comprises identifying a data pattern between the first product attribute parameters and one or more raw material data parameters manufacturing parameters.
- 7. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the manufacturing parameter comprises a quality data parameter for identifying a quality characteristic associated with the first component part and wherein identifying the logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and manufacturing parameters comprises identifying a data pattern between the first product attribute parameters and one or more quality data parameters.
- 8. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the manufacturing parameter comprises a productivity data parameter for identifying a productivity characteristic associated with the production run and wherein identifying the logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and manufacturing parameters comprises identifying a data pattern between the first product attribute parameters and one or more productivity data parameters.
- 9. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein the manufacturing parameter comprises a process setting data parameter for identifying a process setting associated with the manufacturing production line during the production run and wherein identifying the logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and manufacturing parameters comprises identifying a data pattern between the first product attribute parameters and one or more process setting data parameters.
- 10. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein populating the manufacturing information database comprises providing an identifier for correlating the manufacturing parameters to the plurality of first product attribute parameters populated in the product attribute database.
- 11. A method as set forth in claim 10 wherein the identifier comprises a time-based identifier whereby manufacturing parameters and first product attribute parameters can be correlated in terms of a time.
- 12. A method as set forth in claim 10 wherein the identifier comprises an event-based identifier whereby manufacturing parameters and first product attribute parameters can be correlated in terms of an event associated with the production run.
- 13. A method as set forth in claim 10 wherein the identifier comprises a product-based identifier whereby manufacturing parameters and first product attribute parameters can be correlated in terms of one or more composite products produced during the production run.
- 14. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein said applying comprises applying a logic filter for correlating said populated plurality of first product attribute parameters with the products in the sample set and for correlating said populated plurality of manufacturing parameters with the products in the sample set.
- 15. A system for analyzing information, said system being suitable for use in connection with a manufacturing production line constructing a composite product from a sequential addition of component parts during a production run, said system comprising:
an inspection system inspecting a first product attribute of a product being manufactured during the production run, said first product attribute being associated with the first component part, said inspection system determining a first product attribute parameter indicative of the first inspected product attribute; a product attribute database for storing the first product attribute parameter; a processor populating the product attribute database with a plurality of first product attribute parameters associated with a sample set of products being manufactured during the production run; a manufacturing information database for storing one or more manufacturing parameters, said manufacturing parameters being associated with the manufacturing production line wherein said processor populates the manufacturing information database with a plurality of manufacturing parameters; and a logic filter for correlating said populated plurality of first product attribute parameters with said populated plurality of manufacturing parameters wherein said processor employs the logic filter to identify a logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and manufacturing parameters.
- 16. A method for analyzing information, said method being suitable for use in connection with a manufacturing production line constructing a composite product from a sequential addition of component parts during a production run, said method comprising:
inspecting a first product attribute of a product being manufactured during the production run, said first product attribute being associated with a first component part; determining a first product attribute parameter being indicative of the first inspected product attribute; inspecting a second product attribute of a product being manufactured during the production run, said second product attribute being associated with the first component part; determining a second product attribute parameter being indicative of the second inspected product attribute; providing a product attribute database for storing the first and second product attribute parameters; populating the product attribute database with a plurality of first product attribute parameters associated with a sample set of products being manufactured during the production run; populating the product attribute database with a plurality of second product attribute parameters associated with the sample set of products being manufactured during the production run; applying a logic filter for correlating said populated plurality of first product attribute parameters with said populated plurality of second product attribute parameters; and identifying a logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and second product attribute parameters.
- 17. A method as set forth in claim 16 further comprising displaying an indication of the identified logical relationship to an operator associated with the manufacturing production line.
- 18. A method as set forth in claim 16 wherein populating the product attribute database further comprises identifying unreliable first product attribute parameters whereby unreliable first product attribute parameters are not populated in the product attribute database.
- 19. A method as set forth in claim 18 wherein populating the product attribute database further comprises identifying unreliable second product attribute parameters whereby unreliable second product attribute parameters are not populated in the product attribute database.
- 20. A method as set forth in claim 16 further comprising:
identifying whether the first product attribute parameter is associated with a culled composite product; and wherein populating the product attribute database comprises:
identifying a first population set within the plurality of first product attribute parameters stored in the product attribute database associated with non-culled composite products; and identifying a second population set with the plurality of first product attribute parameters stored in the product attribute database associated with culled composite products.
- 21. A method as set forth in claim 20 further comprising:
identifying whether the second product attribute parameter is associated with a culled composite product; and wherein populating the product attribute database comprises:
identifying a second population set within the plurality of second product attribute parameters stored in the product attribute database associated with non-culled composite products; and identifying a second population set with the plurality of second product attribute parameters stored in the product attribute database associated with culled composite products.
- 22. A method as set forth in claim 16 further comprising:
identifying whether the first product attribute parameter is associated with a non-culled composite product; and wherein populating the product attribute database comprises populating the product attribute database with first product attribute parameters associated with non-culled composite products and disregarding first product attribute parameters associated with culled composite products.
- 23. A method as set forth in claim 22 further comprising:
identifying whether the second product attribute parameter is associated with a non-culled composite product; and wherein populating the product attribute database comprises populating the product attribute database with second product attribute parameters associated with non-culled composite products and disregarding second product attribute parameters associated with culled composite products.
- 24. A method as set forth in claim 16 wherein said applying comprises applying a logic filter for correlating said populated plurality of first product attribute parameters with the products in the sample set and for correlating said populated plurality of second product attribute parameters with the products in the sample set.
- 25. A method as set forth in claim 24 wherein said applying comprises applying a logic filter for correlating said populated plurality of second product attribute parameters with the products in the sample set and for correlating said populated plurality of second product attribute parameters with the products in the sample set.
- 26. A system for analyzing information, said system being suitable for use in connection with a manufacturing production line constructing a composite product from a sequential addition of component parts during a production run, said system comprising:
a first inspection system for inspecting a first product attribute of a product being manufactured during the production run, said first product attribute being associated with a first component part, said first inspection system determining a first product attribute parameter indicative of the first inspected product attribute; a second inspection system inspecting a second product attribute of a product being manufactured during the production run, said second product attribute being associated with the first component part, said second inspection system determining a second product attribute parameter indicative of the second inspected product attribute; a product attribute database for storing the first and second product attribute parameters; a processor populating the product attribute database with a plurality of first product attribute parameters associated with a sample set of products being manufactured during the production run and populating the product attribute database with a plurality of second product attribute parameters associated with the sample set of products being manufactured during the production run; a logic filter for correlating said populated plurality of first product attribute parameters with said populated plurality of second product attribute parameters wherein said process applies the logic filter to identify a logical relationship between the populated plurality of first product attribute parameters and second product attribute parameters.
