Claims
- 1. A plastic product formed of at least two layers, where at least one layer is made from a thermoplastic polyamide containing composition and contains from 3 to 30% by weight of a conductivity black, wherein the conductivity black is defined by the following parameters:a) DBP absorption of from 100 to 300 ml/100 g; b) a specific surface area of from 30 to 180 m2/g; c) an ash content of less than 0.1% by weight and d) a grit content of not more than 25 ppm, wherein at least one other layer is formed of a rubber, a polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate composition, a polybutylene-2,6-naphthalate composition, a polyvinylidenefluoride composition, an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer composition, a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropene-vinylidenefluoride terpolymer composition, a polyolefin composition or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer composition.
- 2. The product as claimed in claim 1, wherein the polyamide containing composition contains from 10 to 25% by weight of conductivity block.
- 3. The product as claimed in claim 2, wherein the conductivity black is present in an amount of from 16 to 20% by weight.
- 4. The product as claimed in claim 1, wherein the polyamide containing composition comprises from 0.1 to 20% by weight of carbon fibers.
- 5. The product as claimed in claim 1, wherein the product is a component of a system transporting solvents or motor fuels.
- 6. A polyamide containing composition, which comprises:I. polyamide and from 3 to 30% by weight of a conductivity black, and II. from 0.1 to 20% by weight of carbon fibers, wherein the conductivity black is defined by the following parameters:a) DBP absorption of from 100 to 300 ml/100 g; b) a specific surface area of from 30 to 180 m2/g; c) an ash content of less than 0.1% by weight and d) a grit content of not more than 25 ppm.
- 7. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the conductivity black is present in an amount of from 10 to 25% by weight.
- 8. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the carbon fibers are present in an amount of at most 16% by weight.
- 9. The composition as claimed in claim 8, wherein the carbon fibers are present in an amount of at most 12% by weight.
- 10. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the polyamide is a nylon-4,6, -6,6, -6,12, -8,10, -10,10, -6, -10,12, -11, -12 or -12,12.
- 11. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the composition further comprises additives selected from the group consisting of processing aids, mold-release agents, stabilizers, flame retardants, glass fibers, mineral fillers and plasticizers.
- 12. A method of fabricating a plastic article, comprising:manufacturing an article selected from the group consisting of gas station supply piping, filling nozzles, piping for gas-removal systems, quick connectors, motor fuel filter casings, piping for brake fluids, coolants or hydraulic fluid and piping for the conveyance of powder or dust by shaping a composition containing polyamide and from 3 to 30% by wt. of a conductive carbon black defined by the parameters as follows: a) a DBP absorption ranging from 100 to 300 ml/100 g; b) a specific surface area ranging from 30 to 180 m2/g; c) an ash content of less than 0.1% by weight; and d) a grit content of not more than 25 ppm.
- 13. The method of claim 12, wherein the polyamide containing composition contains from 10 to 25% by weight of conductivity black.
- 14. The method of claim 13, wherein the polyamide containing composition contains from 16 to 20% by weight of conductivity black.
- 15. The method of claim 12, wherein the polyamide containing composition contains from 0.1 to 20% by weight of carbon fibers.
- 16. The method of claim 12, wherein the composition further comprises additives selected from the group consisting of processing aids, mold-release agents, stabilizers, flame retardants, glass fibers, mineral fillers and plasticizers.
- 17. The method of claim 12, wherein the plastic article is formed as a one-layer structure from the polyamide containing composition.
- 18. The method of claim 12, wherein the plastic article is formed of at least two layers, where at least one layer is made from a thermoplastic polyamide containing composition and the other layers are composed of another composition which has not been rendered antistatic.
