Claims
- 1. A process for the production of a .beta.-haloalkylaminosulfonyl halide of the formula: ##STR42## in which the individual radicals R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 may be identical or different and each is hydrogen, or an aliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic radical, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 and/or R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 together with the two adjacent carbon atoms may form an alicyclic ring, X and Y may be identical or different and each is a chlorine atom or a fluorine atom, and R.sup.5 is an aliphatic radical,
- reacting an aziridine of the formula ##STR43## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 have the above meanings, with a sulfuryl halide of the formula ##STR44## in which X and Y have the above meanings.
- 2. A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the reaction is carried out with a ratio of 1 to 4 moles of sulfonyl halide (III) for each mole of starting material (IV).
- 3. A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the reaction is carried out at a temperature of from -65.degree. to +110.degree. C.
- 4. A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein sulfuryl chloride is used and the reaction is carried out at a temperature of from -40.degree. to +100.degree. C.
- 5. A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein sulfuryl chlorofluoride is used and the reaction is carried out at a temperature of from -30.degree. to +35.degree. C.
- 6. A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein sulfuryl fluoride is used and the reaction is carried out at a temperature of -60.degree. to +30.degree. C.
- 7. A process is claimed in claim 1 wherein the reaction is carried out in the presence of an organic solvent which is inert under the reaction conditions.
- 8. A process as claimed in claim 1 which is carried out in the presence of a Lewis acid.
