Abstract
A properties, building structures, and securities wealth-building strategy game is played by multiple players on a game board. The game board has spaces that depict a bank, a stock board, move tracker, a stock exchange, a parking lot property, and a building property. The players can purchase securities with currency. The value of the securities is determined by drawing from two decks of security cards, with each deck having a positive value and a negative value. The values are summed to determine an increase or decrease in the price for the securities. A parking lot property and a building property can be selectively purchased by players who land on the corresponding property space with currency. A building structure can be purchased by players to generate rental income. Individual floors can be purchased by players to add to building structures to further increase the rental income of building properties
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to a properties, building structures, and securities wealth-building strategy game and method of play. More so, the wealth-building game allows multiple players to strategize transactions for securities, properties, and multi-floor building structures while maneuvering across a game board; whereby the game board is defined by a movement tracker for tracking the position of players across spaces, a securities exchange space that allow players to purchase securities, playing cards that determine the price of the securities, parking and building property spaces that generate recurring rental income, variably sized buildings that can be built on the properties to increase rental income, floors that can be built onto the building structure to further increase rental income, and a player score sheet for recording the monthly income, number of shares of stock, and point totals. The player with the most points wins, winner after the last property has been purchased.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The following background information may present examples of specific aspects of the prior art (e.g., without limitation, approaches, facts, or common wisdom) that, while expected to be helpful to further educate the reader as to additional aspects of the prior art, is not to be construed as limiting the present invention, or any embodiments thereof, to anything stated or implied therein or inferred thereupon.


Typically, mastering the values of real estate and investment is a skill that requires learning, experience, and hard work. Thus, most people deem the attainment of wealth through real estate and the stock market as a difficult goal to achieve. Generally, the basic principles of personal finance, investing, and the accumulation of wealth are taught in formal institutions of learning. These principles are also taught in expensive and time-consuming seminars. Or, they may be taught in financial books. Most people, however, do not have the time, ability, or even the inclination to attend classes, or seminars, or the ability to learn the principles from a book.


It is known in the art that real estate and the stock market have been a favorite basis for games, including real estate and investment games board games. The players engage in the trading of stocks or the purchasing of real estate. In these games, players compete on a financial basis with gains and losses related to the acquisition of stocks and real estate and the improvement of property. The outcome of these games depends in large part upon chance and in lesser part upon the risk taking, skill, and planning of the players.


Other proposals have involved real estate and investment games. The problem with these games is that they do not create a real-world application to the purchase of securities, as the prices for the securities are static. Also, the real estate purchased in such games cannot be added onto to increase value through use of structural buildings and floors added to the structures. Even though the above cited real estate and investment games meet some of the needs of the market, a hose gripping apparatus that wraps around a wealth-building game allows multiple players to strategize transactions for securities, properties, and multi-floor building structures while maneuvering across a game board; whereby the game board is defined by a movement tracker for tracking the position of players across spaces, a securities exchange space that allow players to purchase securities, playing cards that determine the price of the securities, parking and building property spaces that generate recurring rental income, variably sized buildings that can be built on the properties to increase rental income, floors built onto the building structure to increase rental income, and a player score sheet for recording monthly income earned from properties, number of shares of stock owned, and number of points per property owned. The player with the most points is winner after the last property has been purchased, is still desired.


SUMMARY

Illustrative embodiments of the disclosure are generally directed to a properties, building structures, and securities wealth-building strategy game and method of play. The wealth-building strategy game is a financial strategy game that allows multiple players to strategize transactions with both properties, and securities while maneuvering across a game board. The game board is defined by a movement tracker for tracking the position of players across spaces, a securities exchange space that allow players to purchase securities, playing cards that are drawn by players to determine the price of the securities. The game board further includes multiple property spaces that generate recurring rental income, variably sized buildings that can be built on the properties to increase rental income. The game board further includes a player score sheet for recording the number of the securities and the points from properties and monthly income. The winner of the game is determined after the last property on the game board has been purchased, at which point the players add the total number of points from properties owned, monthly income, cash, and value of stocks, including deductions, to determine the winning player with the highest point totals.


In one aspect of the present invention, a properties and securities wealth-building strategy game, comprises:


a game board defined by multiple spaces arranged to form a pathway for multiple players to advance thereon;


a movement tracker operable to track the number of advances by the players across the spaces, whereby at least three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period;


a bank operable to retain a currency for the players;


a securities space identifying a point of transaction for a security, whereby the players purchase the security at the securities space with the currency;


a deck of positive security cards obtained by the players while on the securities space, the positive security cards increasing the value of the security;


a deck of negative security cards obtained by the players while on the securities space, the negative security cards decreasing the value of the security;


a security price tracker displaying the value of the security, the displayed value being adjustable to accommodate increases and decreases in the value of the security;


at least one parking lot property space, whereby the players purchase a parking lot property at the parking lot property space with the currency, the parking lot property generating a parking income at the income period and points;


at least one building property space, whereby the players purchase a building property at the building property space with the currency;


at least one building structure, whereby the players purchase the building structure to integrate into a purchased building property with the currency, whereby the building structure generates a rental income at the income period,


multiple floors adapted to add to a corresponding building structure, whereby the players purchase at least one of the floors to add to the building structure with the currency, whereby the floors increase the rental income and points of the building structure; an


multiple score cards operable to record points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the currency, the accumulated value of the security, the accumulated value of the parking lot income, and the accumulated value and floors of the rental income, whereby the player with the greater number of points wins.


In another aspect, the game comprises multiple game pieces, the game pieces being representative of the players.


In another aspect, the game board comprises fifty-seven spaces.


In another aspect, the security includes at least one of the following: a stock for a company, a bond, and a futures contract.


In another aspect, each deck of positive security cards numbering positive 1 to positive 7.


In another aspect, each deck of negative security cards numbering negative 1 to negative 7.


In another aspect, the game further comprises multiple wild cards.


In another aspect, the wild card comprises a circled number.


In another aspect, the players select one negative security card and one positive security card while on the securities space.


In another aspect, the players select one positive security card when purchasing the building property, the building structure, and the floors.


In another aspect, the building property has a cost of seven hundred dollars.


In another aspect, the seven-hundred-dollar building property has eight floors, with each floor earning a rental income of forty dollars, and a value of eight points.


In another aspect, the first five floors for the building property structure have a fixed price, and additional floors cost the same as the building property.


In another aspect, the game terminates when all of the parking lot properties and all of the building properties have been purchased.


In another aspect of the present invention, a method of playing a properties and securities wealth-building strategy game, comprises:


providing a game board, the game board defined by multiple spaces arranged to form a pathway for multiple players to advance thereon;


advancing, by the players, a plurality of game pieces across the pathway, whereby each player selects an amount of advancement from one space to five spaces;


tracking the number of advances by the players across the spaces with a movement tracker, whereby at least three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period;


advancing the game pieces to a securities space, the securities space identifying a point of transaction for a security;


drawing a card from a deck of positive security cards, the positive security cards increasing the value of the security;


drawing a card from a deck of negative security cards, the negative security cards decreasing the value of the security;


purchasing, by the players, the security, the purchase price being increased or decreased by the sum of the drawn positive and negative security cards;


advancing the game pieces to a building property space, the building property space identifying a point of transaction for a building property;


purchasing, by the players, the building property;


purchasing, by the players, a building structure;


integrating the purchased building structure on the purchased building property;


generating, with the purchased building structure, a rental income at the income period;


purchasing, by the players, at least one floor;


adding the purchased at least one floor to the purchased building structure;


generating, with the building structure and the added at least one floor, an additional rental income;


recording points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the currency, the accumulated value of the security, and the accumulated value of the rental income, and the building structure whereby the player with the greater number of points wins.


In another aspect, the method further comprises advancing the game pieces to a parking lot property space, the parking lot property space identifying a point of transaction for a parking lot property;


In another aspect, the method further comprises purchasing, by the players, the parking lot property.


In another aspect, the method further comprises generating, by the parking lot property, a parking income at the income period.


In another aspect, the method further comprises recording points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the building structure, the currency, the accumulated value of the security, the accumulated value of the property income, whereby the player with the greater number of points wins.


In another aspect, the method further comprises tracking the number of advances by the players across the spaces with a movement tracker, whereby at least three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period.


One objective of the present invention is to provide a strategy game that requires astute purchases of securities and properties, and further building on the properties to accumulate wealth greater than opposing players.


Another objective is to incorporate principles of real property negotiations with the purchase of stocks as investment vehicles, and provides rewards for successful players.


Another objective is to create strategic opportunities for players through selective purchase of stocks and properties, and further constructing buildings on the properties.


Yet another objective is to provide an adaptable board game wherein various business properties involved in playing of the game represent real life establishments.


An exemplary objective is to simulate investment practices and situations in the stock market 108.


Additional objectives are to provide a means by which the principles of personal finance, investing, and the accumulation of wealth can be taught in a highly compressed time frame and in a manner that is both fun and, learning wise, highly effective.


A primary object of the present invention is to provide an entertaining and educational game comprised of buying, selling and managing a financial portfolio.


Another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game comprised of stocks, bonds and options.


Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game having a board having a plurality of spaces designated as financial transactions.


Still yet another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game where a player can buy and sell stocks.


Another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game where a player can place an option to buy and sell stocks in an atmosphere of uncertainty.


Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game where a player learns the value and basic use of bond trading.


Still yet another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game where a player learns the value and basic use of call and put options.


Another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game where a player learns to negotiate with other portfolio players in asset management.


Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a financial portfolio educational game where a player learns to trade with other portfolio players.


Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a properties and securities wealth-building strategy game that is intuitive to play, such that younger players can learn to play.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is merely exemplary in nature and is not intended to limit the described embodiments or the application and uses of the described embodiments. As used herein, the word “exemplary” or “illustrative” means “serving as an example, instance, or illustration.” Any implementation described herein as “exemplary” or “illustrative” is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other implementations. All of the implementations described below are exemplary implementations provided to enable persons skilled in the art to make or use the embodiments of the disclosure and are not intended to limit the scope of the disclosure, which is defined by the claims. A properties, building structures, and securities wealth-building strategy game 100 and method 1800 of play is referenced in FIGS. 1-18B. Properties, building structures, and securities wealth-building strategy game 100, hereafter “game 100” is a financial strategy game 100 that is played on a game board 102 with multiple competing players. Game board 102 is outlined with sequential spaces 106a-n that depict a bank 110, a securities space 112 having a stock exchange, a parking lot property space 124, and a building property space 128a, 128b. Game 100 is unique in that structural elements, i.e., building structures with buildable floors, can be added to a players portfolio to increase the value of property monthly income. Exemplary structural elements include a building structure that is purchased for integration on a building property 130a, 130b. Also, individual floors can be added to building structure 700a-d to further increase the income and points of building property 130a-b.


During the life of the game, a player that advances to securities space 112 on game board 102 has the option to buy or sell securities 114. The value of the securities 114 is determined by drawing from two decks of positive value and a negative value securities cards 116a, 116b. The values of securities cards are summed to determine an increase or decrease in the price of securities 114. Further, a wild card 120 dispersed in the decks of securities cards can be drawn. The wild card, itself, has a positive or negative value determinative of the price of the securities. However, the wild card also works to negate the value of the concurrently drawn securities card.


A player that advances to a parking lot property space 124 or a building property space 128a, 128b has the option of buying a parking lot property 126 or a building property 130a, 130b, respectively. Currency may be used for this purpose. The parking lot property 126 generates parking income for the players at a predetermined income period and points. A building structure 700a-d can be purchased to integrate (build) onto the building property 130a, 130b. Building structure 700a-d generates rental income for the players at the predetermined income period. An additional structural enhancement is at least one floor 702a-n, which can be added to building property 130a-b to increase the amount of rental income. Points are awarded for accumulated currency, values of securities, generated parking income, and generated rental income and points from properties. The points are recorded on a score sheet 132, with the player having the greater number of points being declared the winner.


As FIG. 1 references, game 100 comprises a game board 102 upon which the action commences. Game board 102 may have a flat rectangular or square shape; and may be constructed from card board, or a rigid material known in the art of board games. In some embodiments, game board 102 may be defined by multiple spaces 106a-n arranged to form a pathway 104 for multiple players to advance thereon. In one non-limiting embodiment, game board 102 comprises fifty-seven spaces. In some embodiments, spaces 106a-n may be drawn to form a rectangular or square shape for easy identification and printing of elements thereon.


Game board 102 is outlined with sequential spaces 106a-n that depict a bank 110, a securities space 112 having a stock exchange, a parking lot property space 124, and a building property space 128a, 128b. In one non-limiting embodiment, game board 102 resembles a city map having five streets. Though in other embodiments, different variations of board game 100 may be used, including a Wall Street version showing Manhattan real estate.


Player movement across game board 102 is not randomly determined, i.e., die or spinners. Rather the player chooses where on the game board 102 to move, up to five spaces. For example, the player can choose to move one space on a first turn, and four spaces on a subsequent turn. The player must clearly articulate intentions for desired space movement. In one non-limiting embodiment, three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period, or a “month”. The income period is significant in that parking income and rental income is collected after this duration. In some embodiments, game 100 may also include a movement tracker 118 operable to track the number of advances by the players across the spaces of the game board 102.


In one exemplary movement, a first player (first player to move) is in charge of movement tracker 118. Before the first player the Player number 1 (the 1st player to move) is in charge of movement tracker 118. Before taking a turn, the first player advances the movement tracker 118 to the next number on movement tracker 118, indicating whether it is the first, second, or third move by the player. This is significant for calculating rental income, which is paid at an income period of three moves (one-month equivalent). After each 3rd move, the parking income and rental income may be received, as discussed below. However, players do not receive monthly income for a new building or add on and parking lot if it is built on the 3rd move. At this juncture, players must wait until the following month (next three moves) to start collecting the parking or rental income.


In other embodiments, game 100 comprises multiple game pieces 108a, 108b, 108c that are representative of the players. Game pieces 108a, 108b, 108c may include figurines, depictions of inanimate objects, or any simple marker that can differentiate between players. For example, FIG. 1 illustrates a thumb tack 108a, a car 108b, and a top hat 108c. Game pieces 108a-c represent correlating players, with the players selecting a desired game piece to differentiate from other players and mark their position on the game board 102.


Game 100 provides a bank 110. Bank 110 has its own space along pathway 104 of game board 102. Bank 110 is representative of a bank structure 600 (See FIG. 6). Properties, building structures, or floors for the building structures are also illustrated. Currency in bank 110 may be recorded on a player score sheet 132, as described below. Currency may include, without limitation, cash, credit, or checks. In one non-limiting embodiment, at the start of the game, each player is provided, in the bank, $2500 in currency, and also 400 shares of securities 114 having a starting price of $20 per share. This is recorded in score sheet 132.


Game board 102 also includes a securities space 112, which is the point of transaction for the securities 114. In some embodiments, securities 114 may include a stock exchange or bourse office, as is known in the art of securities 114. In other embodiments, securities 114 may include, without limitation, a stock for a company, a bond, and a futures contract. The players have the option of buying securities 114 when game piece 108a is resting at the securities space 112. Players also have the option to sell the securities 114. Players commence the game at the securities space 112. Players are initially provided 400 shares of their own securities 114, at a price of $20 per share. From that point, players may buy or sell securities 114 an unlimited number of times at their turn.


Players must advance to securities space 112 “Stock Exchange” to buy/sell shares of their securities 114. There is a $200 commission per trade. 114. Furthermore, players can only buy shares of their own securities 114. Furthermore, shares of the securities 114 can only be traded in increments of one hundred. Players keep track of their securities 114 and buying/selling on score sheet 132. If a securities 114 price falls to zero, that player is eliminated from game.


In conjunction with the securities space 112, the game 100 also provides a deck of positive security cards 116a and a deck of negative securities cards 116b that are drawn by the players who are purchasing or selling securities 114. Positive securities cards 116a increase the value of securities 114. Negative securities cards 116b decreasing the value of the securities 114. The value of securities 114 is variably increased or decreased when the player draws from a deck of positive security cards, and a deck of negative security cards, with the sum of the playing cards adjusting the stock price. Also included in the deck of securities cards 116a-b are wild cards 120. The wild card 120, itself, has a positive or negative value determinative of the price of the securities. However, the wild card also works to negate the value of the concurrently drawn securities cards 116a-b.


Every time a player goes to the securities space 112 on game board 102, the player has to draw a positive securities card 116a and a negative securities card 116b, and accordingly adjust the value of the securities 114 by the sum from the positive and negative securities cards 116a, 116b. In some embodiments, each deck of positive securities cards 116a numbering positive 1 to positive 7. In other embodiments, each deck of negative securities cards 116b numbering negative 1 to negative 7. However, in other embodiments, additional values for the securities cards may also be used.


The players select one positive security card 116a and one negative security card 116b while on the securities space 112. Players draw securities cards every time they go to the securities space 112 regardless if a player buys or sells. If shares of the stock are purchased, the player must draw from a positive value deck of securities cards 116a and a negative value deck of securities cards before the purchase or sale. 116b. The sum of selected positive and negative cards adjusts the price of the player's securities. The price of the security is adjusted based on the sum of the positive and negative securities cards 116a-b.


The variably changing price of securities can be accomplished with a securities price tracker 122, shown in FIG. 4. Security price tracker “STOCK BOARD” 122 displays the value of securities 114. The displayed value is adjustable to accommodate increases and decreases in the value of the security, as a result of the positive and negative security cards. As illustrated, securities price tracker 122 includes multiple securities and their correlating prices. For example, PT sells at $98/share; AU sells at $77/share; AG sells at $49/share; and CU sells at $11/share. As positive and negative securities cards 116a-b are drawn, this price of the securities changes.


As shown in FIG. 5, securities price tracker “STOCK BOARD” 122 provides a simple mechanical device that can be adjusted to record the changing prices of the securities 114; and thereby dynamically changing the net worth for the player. In one possible embodiment, securities price tracker 122 includes multiple wheels 500a, 500b having labels with numbers (0-9) can easily be rotated to display the appropriate price for the securities through a window in securities price tracker 122.


In further aspects of pricing the securities 114, the game 100 also provides multiple wild cards 120 that are randomly dispersed into the decks of positive and negative security cards 116a-b. Wild card displays a positive or a negative value, and is marked with a circle around the number. Thus, wild card has its own value, and negates the value of the concurrently drawn securities cards 116a-b. For example, when a player picks a negative wild card 120 with a circled number the positive securities card 116a is discarded and the player subtracts the amount of the circled number from their stock price. If 2 wild cards are picked at the same time, they off set each other and discarded. Every time wild card is picked that deck get reshuffled.


Game 100 includes two types of properties for players to purchase and enhance. The first type is a parking lot property 126, typically representative of a parking lot for vehicles. The second type of property is a building property 130a, 130b, representative of an empty lot on which structures can be built to generate income. Players have the option to purchase each type of property 126, 130a-b to generate parking income and rental income and points. The players can also build multi-level structural buildings 700a-d on the building property 130a-b. In one exemplary embodiment, building property 130a-b can include twenty building lots costing from $700 to $1000. The players can build structural buildings 700a-d and multiple levels of floors 702a-n on the building structures when purchasing the building property 130a-b.


In some embodiments, the game board 102 depicts at least one parking lot property space 124. When landing on parking lot property space 124, players have the option of buying a parking lot property 126 with their currency. Parking lot property 126 does not require building structures thereupon, and automatically generates a parking income after every income period (every three moves). Parking lot property 124 generates parking income and earns points, which are fixed.


In one exemplary monthly parking income generating scenario, a $5000 parking lot property 126 pays a monthly income of $500 a month (every 3 moves). In another embodiment, parking lot property 126 comprise four parking lots, with two costing $5000 and two costing $6000. In yet another embodiment, a parking lot property that costs $5000 generates $500 every income period (month—3 moves), and is worth 10 points. A $6000 parking lot property generates $600 and is worth 12 points.


Looking again at FIG. 1, the game board 102 also displays at least one building property space 128a, 128b. When landing on building property space 128a-b, players have the option to buy a building property 130a, 130b. As with the securities 114, the currency in the bank 110 may be used to purchase the building property 130a, 130b. The purchased building property 130a, 130b is configured to receive a building structure 700a-d, which generates periodic rental income for the players. Players also have the option of purchasing multiple, income generating building structures 700a-d and floors 702a-n on building property 130a, 130b.


Game 100 is unique in that structural elements, i.e., building structure with addable floors, are included to enhance monthly income and points. 102. In one embodiment, players have the option of purchasing at least one building structure 700a-d, so as to integrate into a purchased building property 130a, 130b. As with the parking lot property and building property, the building structure 700a-d is purchased with currency. Suitable materials for the buildings may include, without limitation, cardboard, wood, rubber, metal, and a polymer. However, the buildings may be fabricated from any material that is rigid enough to support the weight of multiple floors without toppling over.


Thus, building property 130a, 130b having the building structure 700a-d generates a rental income at the income period of three advances by the player. The rental income is payable at the income period. In one rental income generating example, a $6000 parking lot property 126 pays a monthly income of $600. Furthermore, in conjunction with the owned stocks, every time a player buys a parking lot property 126, the player picks a positive securities card 116a and adjusts the value of the securities 114 on the stock board.


As FIGS. 7A-7D illustrate, building structures 700a-d can be classified at four different price points, with each building structure 700a-d priced at a cost to purchase of $700 (FIG. 7A); $800 (FIG. 7B); $900 (FIG. 7C); and $1000 (FIG. 7D). The variance in price for the building structures is determined by the cost of the property, which also creates differences in rental income generated. In one embodiment, the cost to build on the building property 130a, 130b is based on the value of the property 700a-d.


In one exemplary pricing arrangement, floors 702a-n of building structure 700a are priced as follows: the price of the first 5 floors 702a, 702b, 702c, 702d, 702n of building structure 700a is fixed. However, after the first five floors, the cost of each floor is the cost of the property. (See FIG. 8). Thus, the monthly income is based on the value of the building property, building structure, and floors thereon.


In another pricing example, a building structure 700b costing $800 has construction costs for the first five floors of $1600, and construction costs of $800 per floor after that. The monthly income is $60 per floor. In one non-limiting embodiment, this is recorded at a “KEY” on the top left of the score sheet 132.


Similar to purchasing the securities 114, the players select one positive security card when purchasing the building property 130a, 130b, the building structure, and add-on floors. Thus, both the parking lot property and the building property not only generate a monthly income, they also increase the value of any securities 114 the players may simultaneously own.


Looking again at FIG. 8, the building property 130a, 130b has a building structure 700a having a cost of $700. The $700 building structure 700a has eight floors 700a-d, with each floor earning a rental income of $40, and a value of eight points. Floors 702a, 702b, 702c, 702d, 702n also include an apex 704, which in this case may be a pointed dome (See FIG. 12) or a spherical section of a roof (See FIG. 7A). Continuing with building structure 700b shown in FIG. 9, the cost to purchase building structure 700b is $800. In one non-limiting embodiment, the $800 building structure 700b has eight floors 900a-n, including an apex 902, with each floor earning a rental income of $60, and a value of 8 points.


Looking now at building structure 700c, FIG. 10 shows a $900 property building structure 700c. The $900 property building structure 700c has eight floors 1000a-n, including an apex 1002, with each floor earning a rental income of $80, and a value of eight points. This is similar to building structures 700a and 700b, except that the additional floors increase the cost, and also enhance the rental income generated by building structure 700c. FIG. 11 shows a $1000 property building structure 700d that has eight floors 1100a-n, including an apex 1102 having an antenna 1104. In this configuration, each floor earns a rental income of $100, and a value of eight points. However, in alternative embodiments of the game, different price points may be used for the floors of building structures.


In one non-limiting embodiment, the height of every building structure 700a-d comprises five pieces. This includes dimensions and shapes as follows: a top piece, a ½″ piece, a 1″ piece, a 2″ piece, and a 4″ piece. In one embodiment, the $700 building structure is ⅕″×⅓″. The $800 building structure is 1½″×1½″. The $900 building structure is 1.8″×1.4″. And the $1000 building structure is 2″×2″.


As illustrated in FIGS. 8-11, the game 100 also includes a unique structural enhancement to the building structure, by providing multiple floors that are adapted to be added (built) onto a corresponding building structure. Similar to the building structure, the players have the option of purchasing one or more floors to add to the building structure. The floors increase the rental income of the building structure. In one embodiment, the first five floors for the building property 130a, 130b structure have a fixed price, and additional floors cost the same as the building property 130a, 130b structure.


Furthermore, the floors may be configured with dimensions of ½″. It is significant to note that one of the floors that can be built to generate rental income may include multiple types of apexes, including a domed top 1200 (FIG. 12), or an antenna roof structure 1300 (FIG. 13). In either case, the apexes indicate termination of building additional floors. For example, FIG. 7D shows a $1000 building structure 700d with a dome roof, and FIG. 7E shows a $1000 building 700e with an antenna on the roof.


It is significant to note that game 100 terminates when all of the parking lot properties and all of the building properties have been purchased. The winner of the game 100 has accumulated the greatest number of points amongst the players. Game provides multiple means for players to generate points. When the game ends (after the last property has been bought), players are awarded points, as follows:


points for purchased parking lot property.


1 point for every $1000 cash. For example, if a player has $6850 cash when the game ends, that is 6 points.


1 point for every purchased floor.


1 point for every $1000 of securities value. For example, if a player has 100 shares of securities and the price of the securities is $55 per share the value of the stock is $5500 and is worth 5 points.


1 point for every $100 of monthly income. For example, if a player has a monthly income of $3890 that is 38 points. However, if a player owns a property and has not built a building structure, that is an 11-point deduction for the empty building property.


Thus, as FIG. 14-17 illustrates, the points are determined from: currency of the player, the accumulated value of securities 114 owned by the player, the accumulated value of the parking income from the parking property owned by the player, and the accumulated value of the rental income from the building structure and floors that are owned by the players. The currency, securities, and property values can be recorded on multiple score cards to record points generated by the players. These correlate to points, which are also recordable on score sheets. After tabulating this information, the player with the greater number of points wins.


In some embodiments, score sheets 132 provide spaces for recording securities 114 and property ownership and value by the players. Changes to the value of securities 114 and monthly income from properties and building structures may also be recorded in score sheet 132. After completing purchases and sales, and after all properties available on the game board 102 have been purchased, the score sheet 132 data are tabulated to determine the winner of game 100.


As FIG. 14 shows, a score sheet 1400 is defined by a Total Points Section 1402. This shows the Total Property points, Cash, Stock Volume, monthly income, subtotal, deduction, and Total points. The players use this section to keep track of their entire holdings, making changes as the game progresses. Further, the Property Type section 1404 shows the cost of buying buildings and constructing multiple levels thereon. For example, a building generates a monthly income of $600, and has a construction fee of $1000 for a first 5 floor and $700 for a second-floor addition.


A Monthly Income Section 1406 also reflects that the player has recorded the income generated from the properties. Monthly Income section 1406 provides a place for players to record parking income from parking lot property, and rental income from building structure. Monthly Income Section 1406 is used to keep track of income generated from properties.


Thus, when a property is purchased the player writes down the property address and the cost of the property. When the player builds on the property the player writes cost of property and how many floors the building has. When a player adds-on to their building the player writes down how many floors were added on. Furthermore, FIG. 15 references score sheet 1400 with a Property Address Section 1502 that forms spaces to record the type and location of properties owned by the player—either a parking lot property or a building property. FIG. 17 illustrates the score sheet with the Property Type Section 1700, the Monthly Income Section 202 with a Total Monthly Income Section 1704, 1702 of the score sheet filled out.



FIG. 16 shows a close-up view of Property Address Section 1502 that is filled out by player. As referenced, parking lot property having a value of $5000 generates a monthly income of $500, while a parking lot property having a value of $6000 generates a monthly income of $600. A Property Points section 1504 allows players to translate the dollar value of the properties into points. Also referenced in FIG. 16, Securities Section 1500 allows players spaces to record securities, and volume thereof. Securities Section 1500 is filled out by player to show 300 shares of securities, such as “AU”, after selling 200 shares the player is left with 100 shares. As discussed above, the value of the securities is variable, and changes with the drawing of positive and negative securities cards.


In one alternative embodiment, game 100 is digitized. In this configuration, the game can be played on a computer screen, or a downloadable app on a smart phone, for example. The digitized version provides a score sheet that can be filled out from a keyboard. Also, the game pieces can move automatically when the player indicates the number of spaces and the desired destination.


Turning now to flowchart in FIGS. 18A and 18B, a method 1800 of playing a properties and securities wealth-building strategy game, hereafter “method 1800” is configured to allow competing players to strategize both securities and property transactions while maneuvering across a game board. As discussed above, the game board used in the method 1800 is defined by a movement tracker for tracking the position of players across spaces, a securities exchange space that allow players to purchase securities, playing cards that are drawn by players to determine the price of the securities.


Game board further includes multiple property spaces that generate recurring rental income, variably sized buildings that can be built on the properties to increase rental income. The game board further includes a player score sheet for recording the monetary value of the securities and points from properties. The winner of the game is determined after the last property on the game board has been purchased, at which point the players add the total points of property, cash, Monthly income and stocks, including deductions, to determine the winning player with the most points.


The method 1800 comprises an initial Step 1802 of providing a game board, the game board defined by multiple spaces arranged to form a pathway for multiple players to advance thereon. Game board 102 is outlined with sequential spaces 106a-n that depict a bank 110, a securities space 112 having a stock exchange, a parking lot property space 124, and a building property space 128a, 128b. The method 1800 may further comprise a Step 1804 of advancing, by the players, a plurality of game pieces across the pathway, whereby each player selects an amount of advancement from one space to five spaces. Players chose how many spaces to move, from one to five spaces. Thus, game does not utilize die or a spinner. Every three moves by the players is considered an income periods, or a “month”.


In some embodiments, a Step 1806 includes tracking the number of advances by the players across the spaces with a movement tracker, whereby at least three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period. Movement tracker 118 operable to track the number of advances by the players across the spaces of the game board 102. Player can choose to move one space on a first turn, and four spaces on a subsequent turn. The player must clearly articulate intentions for desired space movement. In one embodiment, three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period, or a “month”. The income period is significant in that parking income and rental income is collected after this duration.


In some embodiments, a Step 1808 comprises advancing the game pieces to a securities space, the securities space identifying a point of transaction for a security. Every time a player goes to the securities space on game board, the player has to draw a positive securities card and a negative securities card, and accordingly adjust the value of the securities by the sum from the positive and negative securities cards. Players may buy or sell securities 114 while on the securities space 112.


A Step 1810 includes drawing a card from a deck of positive security cards, the positive security cards increasing the value of the security. In one non-limiting embodiment, there are 2 decks of securities cards, a positive value deck of securities cards, and a negative value deck of securities cards. Each deck contains cards having values from 1 to 7. A deck of positive security cards 116a and a deck of negative securities cards 116b are drawn by the players who are purchasing or selling securities 114.


Positive securities cards 116a increase the value of securities 114. Negative securities cards 116b decrease the value of the securities 114. The value of securities 114 is variably increased or decreased when the player draws from a deck of positive security cards, and a deck of negative security cards, with the sum of the playing cards adjusting the stock price. Also included in the deck of securities cards 116a-b are wild cards 120. The wild card 120, itself, has a positive or negative value determinative of the price of the securities. However, the wild card also works to negate the value of the concurrently drawn securities cards 116a-b. In oner non-limiting embodiment, each deck of securities cards has 3 wild cards, with the number being circled to indicate a wild card. The value of the cards are indicative of the price of the stock, and with each card drawing, the price of securities fluctuates accordingly—just like in real life.


In some embodiments, a Step 1812 may include drawing a card from a deck of negative security cards, the negative security cards decreasing the value of the security. The positive and negative securities cards are summed to determine the value of the securities 114. Thus, a Step 1814 comprises purchasing, by the players, the security, the purchase price being increased or decreased by the sum of the drawn positive and negative security cards. The value of securities 114 is variably increased or decreased when the player draws from a deck of positive security cards, and a deck of negative security cards, with the sum of the playing cards adjusting the stock price.


After purchasing the securities at the set price for that turn, a Step includes recording the purchase price of the security. By recording the prices, the player learns keep a tabulation on all business transactions. The player can record the price on a score sheet 1400, discussed above. By recording the price, the player has a tangible record of what the price of the security is at that moment. However, the player is also made aware that the price of the security could increase, or decrease, depending on the whims of the market, represented by the securities cards.


Yet another Step related to the securities includes drawing two new cards from the two decks of security cards, each deck having a positive value and a negative value, whereby the positive value security card increases the value of the security, whereby the negative value security card decreases the value of the security. Thus, this is the mechanism by which the players' securities increase or decrease in value. The game 100 and method 1800 are specifically configured to teach the player how to react to falling and rising prices in securities and, as discussed below, property building structure prices.


Another Step pertinent to purchasing securities includes determining if the value of the security increased or decreased. The player has now gained or lost value and points from the fluctuation of the securities prices. The player learns to act accordingly by selling or buying more securities. For example, the player can gain a profit from the securities by selling a portion after the price increases. Or, the player can minimize losses with the securities by selling them all, and inventing in building properties, discussed below.


Method 1800 may further comprise a Step of advancing the game pieces to a parking lot property space, the parking lot property space identifying a point of transaction for a parking lot property. A subsequent Step comprises purchasing, by the players, the parking lot property. When landing on parking lot property space 124, players have the option of buying a parking lot property 126 with their currency. Consequently, a Step comprises generating, by the parking lot property, a parking income at the income period. Parking lot property 126 does not require building structures thereupon, and automatically generates a parking income after every income period (every three moves). Parking lot property 124 generates parking income and earns points, which are fixed.


Method 1800 may further comprise a Step 1816 of advancing the game pieces to a building property space, the building property space identifying a point of transaction for a building property. When landing on building property space 128a-b, players have the option to buy a building property 130a, 130b. As with the securities 114, the currency may be used to purchase the building property 130a, 130b. The purchased building property 130a, 130b is configured to receive a building structure 700a-d, which generates periodic rental income for the players. Players also have the option of purchasing multiple, income generating building structures 700a-d and floors 702a-n on building property 130a, 130b.


Game 100 is unique in that structural elements, i.e., building structure with addable floors, are included to enhance Monthly income and points space on game board 102. Thus, a Step 1818 includes purchasing, by the players, the building property. The amount of money the players have is determinative of the amount of building properties that can be purchased, similar to a real life scenario of balancing purchases with expenses. Continuing, the method 1800 also includes a Step 1820 includes purchasing, by the players, a building structure. Building structures 700a-d can be classified at four different price points, with each building structure 700a-d priced at a cost to purchase of $700 (FIG. 7A); $800 (FIG. 7B); $900 (FIG. 7C); and $1000 (FIG. 7D). The variance in price for the building structures is determined by the cost of the property, which also creates differences in rental income generated. In one embodiment, the cost to build on the building property 130a, 130b is based on the value of the property 700a-d.


Another Step 1822 includes integrating the purchased building structure on the purchased building property. Players have the option of purchasing at least one building structure 700a-d, so as to integrate into a purchased building property 130a, 130b. A subsequent Step 1824 includes generating, with the purchased building structure, a rental income at the income period. Thus, building property 130a, 130b having the building structure 700a-d generates a rental income at the income period of three advances by the player. The rental income is payable from the bank at the income period. Here, the player learns, just as in real life, that outlaying moneys for real estate can work to generate income.


In some embodiments, this allows for a subsequent Step of recording the purchase price of the building structure and the at least one floor. The prices can be recorded in the score sheet 1400. By recording the prices, the player learns keep a tabulation on all business transactions. After recording the price, the method 1800 includes a Sep of determining if the value of the building structure and the at least one floor is greater than the rental income. This allows the player to think through the recorded price, and calculate the benefit, if any, for making the purchase of the building structure.


Another Step may include purchasing additional building structure and floors if the rental income over a period of time is greater than the price of the building structure and the at least one floor. The structures of buildings and added floors are expenses that are tabulated against the rental income to determine if it was worth the purchase. The player is forced to think through the consequences of purchasing building structures, and also whether the addition of floors justifies the increase in rental income. For example, floors 702a-n of building structure 700a are priced as follows: the price of the first 5 floors 702a, 702b, 702c, 702d, 702n of building structure 700a is fixed. However, after the first five floors, the cost of each floor is the cost of the property. (See FIG. 8). Thus, the monthly income is based on the value of the building property, building structure, and floors thereon.


In another pricing example, a building structure 700b costing $800 has construction costs for the first five floors of $1600, and construction costs of $800 per floor after that. The monthly income is $60 per floor. Similar to purchasing the securities 114, the players select one positive security card when purchasing the building property 130a, 130b, the building structure, and add-on floors. Thus, both the parking lot property and the building property not only generate a monthly income, they also increase the value of any securities 114 the players may simultaneously own. The game and method 1800 teaches the player to learn from past purchases of building structures and securities, so as to achieve the optimal profits.


A Step 1826 comprises purchasing, by the players, at least one floor. Building structure are configured to receive floors, so as to enhance the value of Monthly income and points. 102. In one embodiment, a Step 1828 comprises adding the purchased at least one floor to the purchased building structure. In one embodiment, players have the option of purchasing at least one building structure 700a-d, so as to integrate into a purchased building property 130a, 130b. A Step 1830 includes generating, with the building structure and the added at least one floor, an additional rental income. As with the parking lot property and building property, the building structure 700a-d is purchased with currency 110.


A final Step 1832 of the method 1800 may include recording points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the currency, the accumulated value of the security, and the accumulated value of the rental income, and from properties whereby the player with the greater number of points wins. Game 100 ends when the last property has been bought. If a player owns a property and has not been built on it is an 11-point deduction. After the last property has been purchased all players add the total points from property, cash, monthly income and value of securities subtotaling it and subtracting any deduction totaling the players Total points. At the termination of the game, players compare point totals, with the greater number of points winning the game. In order to purchase the last property every building that player owned must be at least 11 floors and the building on the last property must also have at least 11 floors.


In conclusion, a properties, building structures, and securities wealth-building strategy game 100 is played by multiple players on a game board 102 that is defined by spaces that depict a bank, a stock exchange, a parking lot property, and a building property. The players can purchase securities with currency. The value of the securities is determined by drawing from two decks of security cards, with each deck having a positive value and a negative value. The values are summed to determine an increase or decrease in the price for the securities. A parking lot property and a building property can be selectively purchased by players who land on the corresponding property space with currency. A building structure can be purchased by players to generate rental income. Individual floors can be purchased by players to add to building structures to further increase the rental income of building properties.


Although the process-flow diagrams show a specific order of executing the process steps, the order of executing the steps may be changed relative to the order shown in certain embodiments. Also, two or more blocks shown in succession may be executed concurrently or with partial concurrence in some embodiments. Certain steps may also be omitted from the process-flow diagrams for the sake of brevity. In some embodiments, some or all the process steps shown in the process-flow diagrams can be combined into a single process.

A properties and securities wealth-building strategy game, the game comprising: a game board defined by multiple spaces arranged to form a pathway for multiple players to advance thereon;a movement tracker operable to track the number of advances by the players across the spaces, whereby at least three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period;a securities space identifying a point of transaction for a security, whereby the players purchase the security at the securities space with the currency;a deck of positive security cards obtained by the players while on the securities space, the positive security cards increasing the value of the security;a deck of negative security cards obtained by the players while on the securities space, the negative security cards decreasing the value of the security;a security price tracker displaying the value of the security, the displayed value being adjustable to accommodate increases and decreases in the value of the security;at least one parking lot property space, whereby the players purchase a parking lot property at the parking lot property space with the currency, the parking lot property generating a parking income at the income period;at least one building property space, whereby the players purchase a building property at the building property space with the currency;at least one building structure, whereby the players purchase the building structure to integrate into a purchased building property with the currency, whereby the building structure generates a rental income at the income period;multiple floors adapted to add to a corresponding building structure, whereby the players purchase the at least one of the floors to add to the building structure with the currency, whereby the floors increase the rental income of the building structure; andmultiple score cards operable to record points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the currency, the accumulated value of the security, the accumulated value of the parking income, and the accumulated value of the rental income and the building structures, whereby the player with the greater number of points wins.
  • 2. The game of claim 1, further comprising multiple game pieces, the game pieces being representative of the players.
  • 3. The game of claim 1, wherein game board is defined by fifty-seven spaces.
  • 4. The game of claim 1, wherein security includes at least one of the following: a stock for a company, a bond, and a futures contract.
  • 5. The game of claim 1, wherein each deck of positive security cards contains cards numbering positive 1 to positive 7.
  • 6. The game of claim 1, wherein each deck of negative security cards contains cards numbering negative 1 to negative 7.
  • 7. The game of claim 1, further comprising multiple wild cards, the wild cards negating the value of a concurrently drawn positive security card or negative security card.
  • 8. The game of claim 1, wherein the players select one negative security card and one positive security card while on the securities space.
  • 9. The game of claim 1, wherein the players select one positive security card when purchasing the building property, the building structure, and add-on floors.
  • 10. The game of claim 1, wherein the building property has a cost of seven hundred dollars.
  • 11. The game of claim 10, wherein the seven hundred dollar building property has eight floors, with each floor earning a rental income of forty dollars, and a value of eight points.
  • 12. The game of claim 1, wherein the first five floors for the building property structure have a fixed price, and additional floors cost the same as the building property.
  • 13. A method of playing a properties and securities wealth-building strategy game, the method comprising: providing a game board, the game board defined by multiple spaces arranged to form a pathway for multiple players to advance thereon;advancing, by the players, a plurality of game pieces across the pathway, whereby each player selects an amount of advancement from one space to five spaces;advancing the game pieces to a securities space, the securities space identifying a point of transaction for a security;drawing two cards from two decks of security cards, each deck having a positive value and a negative value, whereby the positive value security card increases the value of the security, whereby the negative value security card decreases the value of the security;purchasing, by the players, the security, the purchase price being increased or decreased by the sum of the drawn positive and negative security cards;recording the purchase price of the security;drawing two new cards from the two decks of security cards, each deck having a positive value and a negative value, whereby the positive value security card increases the value of the security, whereby the negative value security card decreases the value of the security;determining if the value of the security increased or decreased;repurchasing another security based on the profit or loss from the initially purchased security;advancing the game pieces to a building property space, the building property space identifying a point of transaction for a building property;purchasing, by the players, the building property;purchasing, by the players, a building structure;integrating the purchased building structure on the purchased property;purchasing, by the players, at least one floor;adding the purchased at least one floor to the purchased building structure;generating, with the building structure and the added at least one floor, a rental income;recording the purchase price of the building structure and the at least one floor;determining if the value of the building structure and the at least one floor is greater than the rental income;purchasing additional building structure and floors if the rental income over a period of time is greater than the price of the building structure and the at least one floor; andrecording points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the currency, the accumulated value of the security, the accumulated value of the property income, and the accumulated floors of buildings, whereby the player with the greater number of points wins.

  • 16. The method of claim 15, further comprising advancing the game pieces to a parking lot property space, the parking lot property space identifying a point of transaction for a parking lot property.
  • 17. The method of claim 16, further comprising purchasing, by the players, the parking lot property.
  • 18. The method of claim 17, further comprising generating, by the parking lot property, a parking income at the income period.
  • 19. The method of claim 18, further comprising recording points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the currency, the accumulated value of the security, the accumulated value of the property income, the accumulated value of the parking income, and the accumulated floors of buildings, whereby the player with the greater number of points wins.

A method of playing a properties and securities wealth-building strategy game, the method comprising: providing a game board, the game board defined by multiple spaces arranged to form a pathway for multiple players to advance thereon;advancing, by the players, a plurality of game pieces across the pathway, whereby each player selects an amount of advancement from one space to five spaces;tracking the number of advances by the players across the spaces with a movement tracker, whereby at least three discrete advances by the players corresponds to an income period;assigning the players a predetermined amount of currency from a bank;advancing the game pieces to a securities space, the securities space identifying a point of transaction for a security;drawing a card from a deck of positive security cards, the positive security cards increasing the value of the security;drawing a card from a deck of negative security cards, the negative security cards decreasing the value of the security;purchasing, by the players, the security, the purchase price being increased or decreased by the sum of the drawn positive and negative security cards;advancing the game pieces to a parking lot property space, the parking lot property space identifying a point of transaction for a parking lot property;purchasing, by the players, the parking lot property;generating, by the parking lot property, a parking income at the income period;advancing the game pieces to a building property space, the building property space identifying a point of transaction for a building property;purchasing, by the players, the building property;purchasing, by the players, a building structure;integrating the purchased building structure on the purchased building property;generating, with the purchased building structure, a rental income at the income period;purchasing, by the players, at least one floor;adding the purchased at least one floor to the purchased building structure;generating, with the building structure and the added at least one floor, an additional rental income at the income period; andrecording points generated by the players, the points correlating to at least one of the following: the currency, the accumulated value of the security, the accumulated value of the parking income, and the accumulated value of the rental income accumulated floors of building structures, whereby the player with the greater number of points wins.
