Claims
- 1. A process for the preparation of propylene polymers grafted with polyalkenylene, said process comprising mixing a propylene polymer with a polyalkenylene in the presence of a non-peroxide radical initiator, at a temperature of from 270.degree. to 350.degree. C., for a time period of from 0.1 to 20 minutes.
- 2. Process according to claim 1, wherein the polyalkenylene has a trans double bond content, calculated with respect to the total number of double bonds in the polyalkenylene, of higher than 30%.
- 3. Process according to claim 2, wherein the trans double bond content is from 35 to 80%.
- 4. Process according to claim 1, wherein the amount of polyalkenylene is less than 20% by weight of the propylene polymer.
- 5. Process according to claim 4, wherein the amount of polyalkenylene is from 0.1 to 10% by weight of the propylene polymer.
- 6. Process according to claim 1, wherein the polyalkenylene is poly-(trans-Octenamer) having a trans double bond content, calculated with respect to the total number of double bonds in the polyalkenylene, of higher than 60%.
- 7. Process according to claim 1, wherein the polyalkenylene is poly-(trans-hexenamer) having a trans double bond content, calculated with respect to the total number of double bonds in the polyalkenylene, of higher than 60%.
- 8. Process according to claim 1, wherein the non-peroxide radical initiator is 1,2-diphenylethane or a derivative thereof.
- 9. Process according to claim 8, wherein the non-peroxide radical initiator is an alkyl derivative of 1,2-diphenylethane.
- 10. Process according to claim 1, wherein the process is carried out in the presence of an antioxidant.
- 11. Process according to claim 1, wherein the process is carried out in an extruder.
- 12. Process according to claim 1, wherein the process is carried out in an injection molding machine.
