Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims priority to and the benefit of the patent application titled “A protective cover and outdoor furniture with the same”, application number 202221938836.2, filed in the China National Intellectual Property Administration on Jul. 26, 2022. The specification of the above-referenced patent application is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention, in general, relates to outdoor articles, and in particular, relates to a protective cover and outdoor furniture therewith.

BACKGROUND

Outdoor furniture refers to furniture relative to indoor furniture that is placed in an open or semi-open outdoor space to promote healthy, comfortable, and efficient public outdoor activities. Outdoor furniture includes urban public outdoor furniture, household yard outdoor furniture, commercial place outdoor furniture, and portable outdoor furniture.

There are various types of outdoor furniture, for example, benches including rattan woven outdoor benches, iron outdoor benches, outdoor sofas, etc. Existing outdoor bench products are usually equipped with seat cushions to improve a user's comfort during use. Outdoor benches are usually placed outdoors for a long time and, therefore, the seat cushions are often affected by outdoor environmental factors, such as rain showers, sun exposure, etc., and are susceptible to dust, which shortens service life of the seat cushions. Moreover, it is inconvenient to store the seat cushions alone.

For the above reasons, Applicant's Chinese patent publication No. CN215776787U discloses outdoor furniture with a protective cover structure, comprising a furniture body and a matched mattress on the furniture body. The furniture body is provided with a protective cover structure, which comprises a head end seat, a tail end seat, and a protective cover. The protective cover can be installed on the head end seat by rolling, and the mattress on the furniture body can be completely or partially covered by pulling the protective cover, which is installed to the tail end seat. The head end seat is installed on the furniture body, and the tail end seat is installed on the furniture body or the mattress. The protective cover structure covers and protects the mattress and a part of the furniture body.

There are some drawbacks in the long-term use of the above-disclosed protective cover structure, for example, its side covering is inadequate and its covering and protection effects on the furniture body are moderate. In addition, the use of a drawing structure design is relatively cumbersome for subsequent rolling of the protective cover. Therefore, there is a need for a protective cover that provides better coverage, is easy to fold and store, and achieves better storage and matching with existing outdoor furniture.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

To address the above-disclosed problems, the present invention provides a protective cover and outdoor furniture therewith, where the protective cover comprises a plurality of cover face units that can be spliced together. The number and attachment of the cover face units facilitate different configurations of the protective cover to form a better protective cover cavity, provide a better protective effect, and allow easy attachment to outdoor furniture in use.

The protective cover disclosed herein comprises a configurable number of cover face units. Adjacent edges of the cover face units are attached in a butt joint connection to form a cover cavity with an open face. The cover cavity is configured to cover an article to be covered. The protective cover is made of rollable or foldable materials.

In an embodiment, the configurable number of the cover face units is three (3), comprising a first cover face, a second cover face, and a third cover face. The first cover face and the third cover face are respectively located on two ends of the second cover face. The cover cavity formed by the first cover face, the second cover face, and the third cover face is configured to cover an upper surface and two side surfaces of the article to be covered.

In another embodiment, the configurable number of the cover face units is four (4), comprising a first cover face, a second cover face, a third cover face, and a fourth cover face. The first cover face and the third cover face are respectively located on two ends of the second cover face. The fourth cover face is located on one side of the second cover face. The cover cavity formed by the first cover face, the second cover face, the third cover face, and the fourth cover face is configured to cover an upper surface and three side surfaces of the article to be covered.

In another embodiment, the configurable number of the cover face units is five (5), comprising a first cover face, a second cover face, a third cover face, a fourth cover face, and a fifth cover face. The first cover face and the third cover face are respectively located on two ends of the second cover face. The fourth cover face and the fifth cover face are respectively located on sides of the second cover face. The cover cavity formed by the first cover face, the second cover face, the third cover face, the fourth cover face, and the fifth cover face is configured to cover an upper surface and four side surfaces of the article to be covered.

The adjacent edges of adjacent cover face units are spliced using splicers.

The splicers are one or more of a zipper, a hook-and-loop fastener such as Velcro, buttons, a lock rope, and a magnetic attraction piece.

The protective cover is configured as an integral structure and made of a waterproof cloth material.

The cover face units that are connected to the edges of the second cover face by a butt joint connection adopt a conjoined transition, and the butt joint connection of the adjacent edges of the other cover face units besides the second cover face are combined and connected by splicers.

Disclosed herein is also an article of outdoor furniture with a protective cover as disclosed above. The article of outdoor furniture comprises a furniture body and a mattress disposed on the furniture body. The protective cover is configured to cover the furniture body and the mattress. The article of outdoor furniture further comprises a containing part provided in the furniture body or the mattress for placing the folded protective cover. The containing part is configured to accommodate the protective cover in a folded condition.

The containing part is fixedly connected to any outer edge of the protective cover using connecting pieces.

Through the optimized design in the present invention, the plurality of cover face units of the protective cover can be spliced together mutually. This optimized design with a configurable number of cover face units allows different configurations of the protective cover, which form a better protective cover cavity, provide a better protective effect, and cover more faces of an article to be covered. In addition, the protective cover can be combined with outdoor furniture in use, which facilitates the folding and storage of the protective cover. The design is optimized by using quick-splicing splicers, which are easy to operate and convenient to use.
