Claims
- 1. Protein .beta. which is the product of contacting cake obtained from vegetable seeds in maceration condition in an aqueous medium with the microorganism Geotrichum candidum at a temperature and for a time sufficient for removal of the toxic substances from the cake and thereafter separating the cake from the aqueous medium, having the following composition on the basis of amino acids:
- Aspartic acid 2.4 %Threonine 3.0Serine 3.2Glutamic acid 26.0Proline 9.2Glycine 4.1Alanine 3.8Valine 3.9Cystine 4.8Methionine 2.4Isoleucine 3.2Leucine 6.1Tyrosine 1.4Phenylalanine 2.8Ammonia Liquor 2.3Lysine 6.8Histidine 3.5Arginine 5.6Tryptophanne 0.9Cellulose 0 %
- said protein .beta. being water soluble, having an ultraviolet absorption spectrum with a peak at 225 m.mu., being homogeneous with electrophoresis and migrating towards the anode, having an isoelectric pH of 12.2, hydrochloric hydrolysis freeing all the amino acids, and having the property of precipitating the natural polymers polyuronides and nucleic acids.
