Claims
- 1. A method of handling an audio track number for an audio CD play mode of a portable computer system, the method comprising the steps of:detecting if the portable computer system is in an audio CD play mode; detecting an audio track number if an audio CD is playing in a CD-ROM drive of the portable computer system in the audio CD play mode; and providing the audio track number to a status display of the portable computer system.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the audio CD play mode is a reduced power mode of the portable computer system.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the audio CD play mode is a secondary operational mode of the portable computer system.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the status display comprises a mini liquid crystal display screen.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the status display is visible to a user whether a case of the portable computer system is open or closed.
- 6. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of:displaying the audio track number on the status display in the audio CD play mode.
- 7. A portable computer system, comprising:a CD-ROM drive; a status display; a means for detecting if the portable computer system is in an audio CD play mode; a means for detecting an audio track number if an audio CD is playing in the CD-ROM drive in the audio CD play mode; and a means for providing the audio track number to the status display in the audio play mode.
- 8. The portable computer system of claim 7, wherein the audio CD play mode is a reduced power mode of the portable computer system.
- 9. The portable computer system of claim 7, wherein the audio CD play mode is a secondary operational mode of the portable computer system.
- 10. The portable computer system of claim 7, wherein the status display comprises a mini liquid crystal display screen.
- 11. The portable computer system of claim 7, wherein the status display is visible to a user whether a case of the portable computer system is open or closed.
- 12. The portable computer system of claim 7, wherein the status display displays the audio track number in the audio CD play mode.
