The present invention relates to an exerciser, and more particularly, to an exercise with pull-up and abdominal training features.
Many conventional exercisers provide different function for training and/or exercising different parts of the users' muscles. One of the welcomed exercisers is the pull-up exerciser which trains the muscles on the back and the arms. The pull-up exerciser includes a bar which is located above the user's chest and the user holds the bar and pulls the body upward by the arms. By repeatedly pulling the body upward, the muscles of the back and the arms are exercised. However, the users have to visit gyms or parks, rather than at home, to use the pull-up exerciser and this is inconvenient for the users.
The other welcomed exerciser is the abdominal training exerciser which includes a roller with two grips on two ends thereof, and the user holes the two grips and rolls the roller along rails so that the body extends forward until the body is bent like a triangle, and then the user pulls the roller back. By repeatedly operating the roller, the abdominal muscles are exercised. However, the resistance of the roller cannot be adjusted.
The present invention intends to provide a pull-up and abdominal exerciser which improves the shortcomings of the conventional exercisers.
The present invention relates to an exerciser and comprises a base having a first frame and a second frame which has a pivotal end so as to be pivotably connected to the first frame. The first and second frames stand on a floor and an angle is defined between the first and second frames. The second frame has a free end located in opposite to the pivotal end. A first grip portion and a bar are located at the pivotal end. A slide device comprises a slide rod and a damper, wherein the slide rod has a second grip portion extending from two ends thereof and a roller is connected to the lower end of the slide rod. The slide rod is slidably movable along the second frame. When using as an abdominal exerciser, the first and second frames overlapped to each other and the second frame faces upward. The damper has the first end fixed to the free end of the second frame, and the second end of the damper trains a pulley on the pivotal end and is fixed to a fixing member on the slide rod. When using as an abdominal exerciser, the user holds the second grip portion on the slide rod and the user's knees contact against the bar on the pivotal end to move the slide rod. When using as a pull-up exerciser, the first and second frames stand on the floor with an angle defined between the first and second frames, and the two ends of the damper are fixed to the free end and the pivotal end respectively. The user holds the first grip portion and the user's knees contact against the slide rod to pull user's body upward while the slide rod slides.
The primary object of the present invention is to provide an exerciser which has two different exercising functions and the users can operate the exerciser as an abdominal exerciser or a pull-up exerciser.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
Referring to
When using as an abdominal exerciser, the first and second frames 11, 12 are overlapped to each other and the second frame 12 faces upward. The damper 23 has a first end fixed to the free end 120 of the second frame 12, and a second end of the damper 23 trains through a pulley 127 on the pivotal end 10 and is fixed to a fixing member 212 on the slide rod 21. The user holds the second grip portion 210 on the slide rod 21 and the user's knees contact against the bar 102 on the pivotal end 10 to move the slide rod 21 by using the arms and the waist. The slide rod 21 has the damper 23 so that the user has to overcome the resistance from the damper 23 to move the slide rod 21. When releasing the second grip portion 210, the damper 23 pulls the slide rod 21 back to its original position. By repeatedly operating, the muscles of the abdominal portion are exercised.
When using as a pull-up exerciser, the first and second frames 11, 12 stand on the floor with an angle defined between the first and second frames 11, 12. The two ends of the damper 23 are fixed to the free end 120 and the pivotal end 10 respectively. The user holds the first grip portion 101 and the user's knees contact against the slide rod 21 to pull user's body upward while the slide rod 21 slides by the user's knees. By repeatedly operating, the muscles of the arms and the back are exercised.
The bar 102, the slide rod 21 and the installation rod 25 are wrapped with soft material so as to protect the user's knees when the knees are accommodated in the first or second distances 251, 252.
The exerciser can switch the two different functions as mentioned above and the exerciser can be used at home. By using the damper 23, different levels of exercising are obtained.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
