Claims
- 1. A spray system comprising:a spring-actuated fluid source comprising a spring in operative engagement with a piston, said piston being positioned to push a fluid from said source under the force of said spring; a spray end in selective fluid communication with said fluid source; and a valve assembly for regulating the flow of fluid from said source to said spray end, said valve assembly comprising: a valve body enclosing an inner chamber thereof, and having an inlet port and an outlet port in fluid communication with said chamber, said inlet port in further fluid communication with said fluid source, said outlet port in further fluid communication with said spray end; and a valve movably mounted in said valve body, said valve having an outwardly extending flange which sealingly engages said valve body, said valve having a closed position in which said flange blocks fluid flow between said inlet port and said outlet port, and art open position in which said flange permits fluid flow between said inlet port and said outlet port; wherein said outwardly extending flange defines an inner surface that is configured such that when said valve is in said closed position, fluid entering said valve body through said inlet port forces said outwardly extending flange towards said valve body; and wherein said spring and said piston coact to urge said fluid into said valve assembly and said valve assembly permits said fluid to flow, under the force of said spring, through said inner chamber and out said spray end, upon movement of said valve to said second position.
- 2. The spray system of claim 1, wherein said spray end, said valve body and said valve are positioned within a spray nozzle.
- 3. The spray system of claim 2, wherein said fluid source comprises a container.
- 4. The spray system of claim 3, wherein said spray nozzle is connected to said container through an elongated piece of tubing which extends at least partially outside of said spray nozzle and said container.
