Claims
- 1. A method of minimizing the efficiency loss due to trimming of a slurry pump impeller of the type including a front shroud and a rear shroud, the shrouds being spaced apart so as to form a plurality of passageways therebetween which are separated by a plurality of impeller blades, each having an outer edge extending between the front and rear shrouds, said method including steps oftrimming the outer edges of the impeller blades so that the outer diameter D1 of the front shroud is less than the outer diameter D2 of the rear shroud and the impeller produces a selected pressure head for a given flow rate.
- 2. The method according to claim 1 wherein the blades are trimmed until ratio D1/D2 is in the range of 0.85 up to 1.0.
