Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula: ##STR35## or a pharmaceutically acceptable nontoxic salt thereof wherein R is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sup.2 is lower alkyl;
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by:
- (a) one or two of the same or different substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, trifluoromethyl, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and alkoxy of 1 to 6 carbon atoms;
- (b) one substituent selected from the group consisting of cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, cycloalkenyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms and nitro;
- (c) one substituent selected from the group consisting of cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, cycloalkenyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms and nitro and one or two substituents selected from the group consisting of alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 8 carbon atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, halogen and trifluoromethyl; or
- R.sup.3 is naphthyl; and
- R.sup.4 is R.sup.5 CO wherein R.sup.5 is pyrryl, thienyl, furyl, dihydrofuryl, tetrahydrofuryl, tetrahydropyranyl or tetrahydrothiopyranyl unsubstituted or substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and nitro.
- 2. A compound according to claim 1 wherein
- R is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.2 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by:
- (a) one or two of the same or different substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, trifluoromethyl, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- (b) one substituent selected from the group consisting of cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, cycloalkenyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms and nitro; or
- (c) one substituent selected from the group consisting of cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, cycloalkenyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms and nitro, and one or two substituents selected from the group consisting of alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, halogen and trifluoromethyl; or
- R.sup.3 is naphthyl.
- 3. A compound according to claim 2 wherein
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 of the same or different substituents selected from the group consisting of chlorine, fluorine, methyl and trifluoromethyl.
- 4. A compound according to claim 3 wherein
- R is methyl;
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen or methyl;
- R.sup.2 is methyl; and
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 of the same or different substituents selected from the group consisting of chlorine, fluorine, methyl and trifluoromethyl.
- 5. A compound according to claim 1 wherein
- R is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.2 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 of the same or different substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkyl of 1 or 2 carbon atoms and trifluoromethyl; or naphthyl; and
- R.sup.4 is R.sup.5 CO wherein R.sup.5 is pyrryl, thienyl, furyl, dihydrofuryl, tetrahydrofuryl, tetrahydropyranyl or tetrahydrothiopyranyl unsubstituted or substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from the group consisting of alkyl of 1 or 2 carbon atoms, halogen and nitro.
- 6. A compound according to claim 1 wherein
- R is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl;
- R.sup.2 is alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from the group consisting of methyl, fluorine, chlorine and trifluoromethyl; or naphthyl; and
- R.sup.4 is R.sup.5 CO wherein R.sup.5 is a heterocycle selected from the group consisting of pyrryl, thienyl, furyl, dihydrofuryl, tetra-hydrofuryl, tetratydropyranyl, tetrahydrothiopyranyl unsubstituted or substituted by methyl, ethyl, mono- or di-chloro, fluoro or nitro.
- 7. A compound according to claim 1 wherein
- R is methyl;
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen;
- R.sup.2 is methyl;
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 members selected from the group consisting of methyl, chlorine or fluorine; and
- R.sup.4 is R.sup.5 CO wherein R.sup.5 is thienyl or furyl.
- 8. A compound according to claim 1 wherein
- R is methyl;
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen;
- R.sup.2 is methyl;
- R.sup.3 is phenyl substituted by fluorine, chlorine and methyl or by 2 chlorine atoms; and
- R.sup.4 is thienylcarbonyl or furylcarbonyl.
- 9. The compound according to claim 1 which is ##STR36##
