The circuit of claim 1 wherein said means for disabling includes means for generating first and second signals of respective different levels, said means for validating including means responsive to the first input signal for enabling said means for validating and to the second input signal for disabling said means for validating.
- 5. The circuit of claim 1 including optical coupling means responsive to a first input command signal applied to an input thereof and coupled to said means for validating at an output thereof for applying a second input command signal to said means for validating, said optical coupling means including means for electrically isolating said means for validating coupled to said output from said optical coupling means input receiving said first input command signal.
- 6. The circuit of claim 1 wherein said command signal comprises a plurality of serially applied signals each of said given amplitude and time duration, said circuit including means responsive to said plurality of applied signals for generating a plurality of said ignition signals and for applying said ignition signals to said given portion of the array in a given sequence.
- 7. The circuit of claim 6 including means for applying said ignition signals to a further portion of the array different than the given portion in a second sequence.
- 8. A pyrotechnic ignition circuit for igniting a selected pyrotechnic device in a given array, each position of the array having a given address, said circuit comprising:
- switch means for applying electrical power to said circuit;
- means for receiving a plurality of sequentially applied ignition command input signals each having a given amplitude and a given time duration;
- means for validating each of the received command input signals as a valid command signal; and
- means responsive to the valid command signals for applying an ignition signal to at least one given portion of the devices of the array in a given sequence, each ignition signal being applied to a different device.
- 9. The circuit of claim 8 wherein the at least one portion comprises first and second different portions of the array.
- 10. The circuit of claim 8 wherein the given amplitude of each command signal is substantially the same and the given time duration of each command signal is substantially the same.
- 11. The circuit of claim 8 wherein said means for receiving includes optical means for receiving a first input command signal and responsive to the first signal for generating a second output command signal electrically isolated from the first signal.
- 12. A pyrotechnic ignition circuit for igniting a selected pyrotechnic device in a given array, said circuit comprising:
- switch means for applying electrical power to said circuit;
- means for receiving a plurality of sequentially applied ignition command input signals each having at least two electrical parameters, the same given parameter of each command input signal having substantially the same value;
- means for comparing the same given parameter of said at least two electrical parameters to a corresponding reference value to validate each of the received command input signals as a valid command signal; and
- means responsive to each valid command signal for generating an ignition signal and for applying the ignition signal to a device in the array, each said ignition signal being applied to a different device.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 12 wherein said command input signal is a pulse, the pulses of the different command input signals each having substantially the same given amplitude and time duration, said means for comparing including means for comparing said given amplitude and time duration of each command input signal to respective corresponding reference amplitude and duration values to generate an output signal manifesting said received command signal as valid.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein said means for generating an ignition signal includes means responsive to said output signal for generating said ignition signal.
